Our one year old husky mix recently completed the 2 week board and train program, and the difference in his behavior is astounding. Prior to the program, his high energy level and reactivity to dogs meant that walks could be a little stressful. We often planned walks in locations without many dogs, and even then the leash pulling could be exhausting. We had been planning to train him ourselves, perhaps with a few group classes here and there - but I now realize this probably would not have gotten us very far and would have been frustrating for everyone involved, especially with this being our first dog ever. After his 2 week Board and Train, there was an immediate difference in his behavior during walks and at home - he is overall a much calmer dog. We now have the tools for walks to be completely enjoyable, and I no longer have to apologize to other dog owners for my dog’s reaction to theirs! We will now feel much more comfortable taking him to various locations, which will no doubt improve his quality of life (and ours!) We are so appreciative of Lead the Way and everything they have done for our family!

Phoebe loves going to Lead The Way! We completed the board & train program a few months ago. After she completed the program, we realized noticeable results in how well she responds to commands and better impulse control. We are able to put distractions in front of Phoebe and we get very little reaction under times of craziness/stress (knocking, loud noises, doorbell rings, etc). Josh and Brittany gave us great tools to use when continuing to train Phoebe and are always available for additional support. The e-collar and prong collar are great tools, especially when we introduce Phoebe to new or potentially disruptive environments. We originally thought we shouldn’t use the prong collar, but they ensured us that it was a productive and non-harmful tool to train Phoebe. We use it on every walk we go on and it is actually very enjoyable to walk a dog that doesn’t pull or drag you along. In addition, the e-collar provides the opportunity to command Phoebe (sometimes even off leash- see my video of the deer in our yard and Phoebe staying calm/ collective!) and provide instant correction when needed. Very happy with the results of the training program. We also take Phoebe to daycare occasionally. She enjoys the play time with her friends. I personally noticed how clean she is when we pick her up from Lead the Way daycare. We have tried other places for day care, and we often pick up Phoebe and she is noticeably dirty/grime-ey. Overall very pleased and excited to have chosen Lead the way.

We have been blessed to find and continue to use Lead The Way K9 Training and Boarding for many years. Our English Cream Goldens Bobofett and Lula-Belle started going there as pups for the initial training and then boarding and daycare. Josh and Brittaney are hands down the best compassionate trainers and doggie caregivers period. Our pooches are treated like family and this shows when we drop off the Goldens. They cannot get our of our car fast enough to run inside and start their daycare. They are very accommodating with things like last minute requests for boarding (room permitting) and have saved many an evening so my wife and I can stay out and enjoy ourselves knowing our dogs were happy and well cared for. It’s the little things that really set them apart: Birthday boxes, holiday treats, sending us photos of how the dogs are enjoying daycare. There is no better place in central Ohio to train, daycare and board your dogs.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
