Learn and Live Dog Training

Boarding and training our 10-month old beagle mix rescue with Lydia transformed our dog and our lives! We left a lovable and frisky, but disobedient and destructive puppy with her for an entire month while we went out of the country, and returned to a still lovable, but now obedient and calm dog. Lydia’s skill transformed our lives with our dog from frustrating and chaotic, to a real joy. We received so many videos of Bertie every day we were apart that we felt as if we were there! It made the separation so much easier! Bertie had so much fun romping in the big back yard with her new dog friends, but also worked hard learning to listen and follow the simple instructions Lydia was training her to understand. Seeing the videos of Lydia training her made it so easy to grasp how we were to work with the e collar training once we returned. We saw them in action working together over and over, so understood the methods and commands perfectly. Though I was skeptical at first, we are now big believers in the ecollar. Lydia had two long sessions with us after we returned, which were invaluable. One in our home, and one off leash at a park. Don’t skip those sessions—they are gold! I cannot say enough good things about working with Lydia! Our pup, Hattie, was struggling with overexcitement whenever we went out, poor impulse control, and some dog reactivity. By day one, she was already playing happily with another dog and looking so much more relaxed. Now that she’s been home for a few weeks, we couldn’t be happier. We’re enjoying easy, calm walks and can take her out and about with us without stress. At home, she listens so well and loves running around off-leash whenever possible. It feels amazing not to worry about how she’ll react anymore, and we’re so grateful for all the tools and guidance Lydia gave us. Lydia truly gave us more freedom with Hattie—and we can see how much happier she is because of it. We were initially hesitant about using the e-collar, but it’s become such a helpful tool. Seeing how it’s used to make her world bigger and safer has been incredible. We highly recommend working with Lydia—zero regrets!

If I could give 100 stars, I would. My 2ish year old pitbull has been through so much, coming to me as a stray last summer. Frank has nervous and excited energy that has been described as "adrenalized." He's not aggressive, but he has had a hard time channeling and managing energy so many people think he's scary and I've been concerned to take him into public or let him meet people or other dogs. He went to a board and train after our first few months together (Fall 2024) and he learned some things, but the training (June 2025) with Learn and Live was transformative. He can better walk on a leash, manage his emotions and relax easier, sleep in his crate overnight, place and BE OUT IN PUBLIC. My favorite thing about Frank post-training is that I can tell he's proud of himself. When he listens, does well and gets treats or when he did something that was really hard, I can tell he is impressed with himself. In addition to being pleased with his training outcomes, I also enjoyed working with Meagan. She is a great communicator, offers a lot of guidance and support, and was a pleasure to work. Thank you!

Lydia is amazing on all levels! She is so passionate about her work and loves our Clifford like he’s one of her own! I trust and respect her training approach beyond words. In addition to being an incredible trainer, she is a wonderful human with wonderful energy. Her mindful approach to training was just what we were looking for, and I would highly recommend her to anyone and everyone! She is truly a dog whisperer! Lydia has a deep love and understanding of dogs and was able to help us understand how best to communicate and continue training Clifford with her skill set. She reinforced the importance of setting him up for success which I loved! Clifford adores her just as much as our family does and always is so happy to see Aunt Lydia!
