Learn Pawsitive

I found Heather online and emailed her about my two dogs. She responded quickly. We met for a one on one and she was very helpful with our two dogs. My very anxious Aussie gave into her after a few minutes and he laid on her most of her time at our house. We took part in the Teen training class for our younger dog. He took to it and we learned quite a bit. I like her training style and I think you can’t go wrong with meeting with Heather and joining one of her training classes. Would highly recommend her!

I just finished attending their "rebellious teen" class with my Great Pyrenees and it was amazing the difference I saw in how well he did in listening and all of the new skills he's learned. I also had them help with my older lab who's a fence jumper and they had great recommendations on things that could help. We've been able to avoid/prevent multiple almost escape. It's a much happier safer place in my home now!

My dog Addie is a total sweetie when it comes to humans, but we've been dealing with her intense leash reactivity towards dogs and other animals since I adopted her in February. We had already had a bad experience with a previous trainer before we found Heather, so I was very skeptical and stressed about the potential of wasting time/money again if it wasn't going to work. After thinking on it a few days, I decided to reach out anyway. Heather spoke to me on the phone for over an hour, as I had tons of questions about her training style/ideas/mentality before I was willing to schedule a session. She was so patient, personable and eager to answer all of the questions I had, which definitely helped calm my fears. I wanted to join her reactive dog classes, but they were not starting for a few weeks, so we decided to book an individual session to get us started. She explained everything in detail and was incredibly helpful, and this really got us kick started on working on things before starting the reactive dog class. Addie has been in class for about a month and her progress has been remarkable! Each week I have been able to see clear and drastic improvements from the week prior. She sets up small class sizes to ensure 1-on-1 training and works at the pace that is best for you AND your dog. She is always quick to answer any questions that arise outside of class time as well. For those of you that were like me struggling with a dog you love indoors, but dread to take out of the house for fear they will lose their mind upon seeing another animal, I highly recommend contacting Heather! And if you do start the class and week one you think "What did I get myself into??" - Stick with it! Week one felt like a nightmare to us because my dog struggled to deal with her emotions and the emotions of all the other dogs in class so much so that I was debating whether or not she was a good fit for the class environment, but by week 2 she was so much better and week 3 was night and day difference, and I am so glad the we stuck with it. I will definitely be signing up for another class in the future!

Heather's ability to work with all the owners and their dogs brings so much ease to the class. Small classes allow for you to get one-on-one attention. I enjoyed learning the why behind the behaviors and then how to help my puppy through them. Heather explains how to take the practices home in order to continue practicing. I fully recommend Heather and her classes. I would not hesitate going back for another class.
