Lehigh Valley Dog Training

We have a 6 year old German Shepherd who was great at home but was very reactive in public, near another dog. During our session with Gwen, Nora, and Linny, we were amazed at how our boy went from barking wildly to quiet. We started attending the Sunday group workshops and in 6 months, he went from being a reactive dog, to being part of the play group! We are thrilled to be able to take our boy on walks and have him interact beautifully with other dogs!

Lehigh Valley Dog Training and Gwen have absolutely given me and my dog the tools to communicate with each other, understand each other, and move through the world with trust and confidence in each other. Backstory: my dog is a herding dog mix who was a rescue. I didn’t know much about her life before me, other than she was a stray who became fearful and at times reactive out of fear (especially with men and other dogs). On our first meeting, I told Gwen everything I knew about my dog and how she would behave and Gwen was able to explain why my dog might behave the way she does, and how I can better train and communicate with her. Sally, my dog, is an expert at loose leash walking now, she doesn’t have outbursts when we see other dogs or people, and she knows that she can trust me to handle any situation! Something I really appreciated in our training with Lehigh Valley Dog Training is that Gwen doesn’t sugar coat anything. Her priority is making sure you and your dog can quickly and effectively communicate and understand each other for everyone’s safety, and to fix whatever might be coming in between you and your dog. She and her team of trainers are smart and observant and very hands on and helpful with whatever challenges you might experience in or out of class!!! My relationship with my dog has grown exponentially while working with Lehigh Valley Dog Training, and I’m sooooooo much more confident bringing her in public and having her be around other people and dogs. I was so excited to meet with Gwenevere just from our conversation on the phone! When she met me and my dog things were great. He was already doing new things in the first 10 minutes. She explained some different dog behaviors and helped me understand my dog. I reached out to her because my dog didn't know how to socialize with other dogs and I want to be able to take him to any outdoor adventure I go on. He also pulled a lot on the leash. Before she introduced him to her dogs her amazing assistant had him walking with me by my side with no pulling. He drug me into her home and I was able to nicely walk him out. We got to meet her beautiful well behaved dogs 1 at a time. At first he was reactive but in no time at all he was laying down and not caring that there were 3 other dogs in the room with him. This was a wonderful experience I know my dog has more work to do but she showed me hope and confidence! I look forward to more classes to better my dog.
