Life is dog, Inc

I have been very pleased with the training my dog Missy and I (yes, the training is for me too) from LID. A few years ago I adopted an adult dog that was good and sweet with humans, but very reactive towards other dogs. Walks were extremely unpleasant, and it seemed that everything I tried did not work. I previously worked with other trainers with very little improvement. Then the pandemic happened, and things went from bad to worse. I did a little research and discovered Life is Dog and thought they might be a good fit. (They were!) Dana worked hard with me to find an approach that would work with my overly anxious dog and not overwhelm her and help build her confidence. I now enjoy walks with her and overall she is a much more relaxed, well adjusted girl. The future looks bright, and I am looking forward to the warm weather and lots of walks with her. We began taking our dog to Life is Dog around October 2022. Our dog loved going and loved all the staff. He passed the temperament evaluation with no issues that were brought to our attention. We were up front with the staff from the beginning that our dog would not be neutered until 12 months based on our vet’s recommendation. We were told this would not be a problem. For about 5 months we were always told that our dog was well behaved and enjoyed day camp. Our dog has never shown any signs of aggression with us, and it was always reported to us that he was not aggressive at camp. A few weeks ago we had a very negative experience and we were told our dog could not come back to camp due to him being aggressive. The manager who called me to ask that my dog be picked up was very vague regarding the details of the incident over the phone and it took me asking several questions to even understand what was going on as he did not seem to want to be forthcoming with specific details. Given that there had never been any issues with my dog at camp and him being aggressive was extremely out of character the manager said that he would speak to the owner’s and call me back. It has now been 2 weeks and I have received no communication from them whatsoever. I am extremely disappointed with Life is Dog given the lack of details/information and failure to follow up. From the day the manager called me to ask that I pick up my dog something has seemed off about the whole situation and I am now appalled that I ever trusted Life is Dog to care for my dog.

We were thrilled with the training our one and a half year old golden retriever received at Life Is Dog! It was reassuring to get consistent feedback after every training session and have all of the trainers be open to what we were hoping to have accomplished with our pup. Each training session came with video reviews and a report card for the day which shows how much was being put into the training. Our girl was a little apprehensive and shy on her first visit and by her last day, she was running to the door and felt right at home! I would recommend Life Is Dog to anyone looking for quality dog training.

Life is dog is truly amazing and words cannot describe how appreciative I am for the entire staff. My 9 month old lab Riley was out of control before I brought her to LID. She would not listen and was overly hyper, where I couldn't even take her on full walks because of all the pulling. However, after bringing her to LID, there has been a HUGE improvement in my dogs behavior. She listens, I can get her to focus, and I am now able to take her on walks without any problems. The staff is incredible and not only have they taught my dog but they have also taught me many things as well ! Thank you very much to Doreen, Roberta, and Nance!
