LION K9

We adopted a lab mix puppy in August 2025, and started working with Rob in mid-September. We were very impressed with Rob, and his philosophy at the first meeting and left knowing we would learn a lot from him and his approach. We were not wrong. Rob's training approach is by visual and verbal cues/commands. We have had dogs in the past, yet felt like we were learning how to train a dog for the first time. Rob has simple and effective methods when training any breed of dog. After having a few 1:1 sessions we started going to group sessions with up to 5-6 dogs also training at the same time. Rob has taught us commands to use when around other dogs, when alone with our dog and for crate training. I appreciate Rob's style, and strongly recommend his services. I would be surprised by anyone who did not have a successful experience. His take is train, don't complain, and it's so true. Dogs don't need as much training as we humans. Lastly, Rob has additional support when doing group training, and you can immediately tell how respected he is with his work by his peers. Do yourself and your dog a favor and work with Rob.

I took my 3 yo lab to Lion K9 and should have done it way sooner. She was wild. No aggression at all, just full of energy. She would jump on everyone, do playful arm nibbles, and anytime she got in trouble she would take off like it was a game. Not the best listener... I had never taken any of my dogs to a trainer and wasn’t sure what to expect. I thought I knew a few training tricks and could handle it myself. LOL. Silly of me. The first meeting and evaluation was free, which definitely motivated me to check it out, and before I even left that day, I knew we would be going with Lion K9. I saw a difference in her behavior within the first couple of weeks. Then a couple of months in, something just clicked. She actually started listening. I thought for sure it would take a lot longer, but all of a sudden things got so much better. It was like she finally said, “Okay fine, I’ll be good.” We could finally take her places and not worry she was going to bolt the second she got the chance. Rob and the team at Lion K9 really know what they’re doing. I’ve learned so much and I’m still shocked at how well this program works. People are always surprised when they see how far she’s come. I definitely recommend Lion K9!

HIGHLY recommend Rob and the team at Lion K9! Our two dogs have been in training with Lion K9 for about 4 months now, and we could not be happier with our results. We came to Rob with tons of issues, but now we can take our dogs almost anywhere - and often get compliments on how well-behaved they are. Before starting training with Lion K9, our recently adopted 1.5 yr Belgian Malinois, Jax, was extremely reactive around other dogs (barking, pulling, jumping and trying to bite whoever had his leash to get free) - chaos. After one session with Rob, we learned how to correct and manage these behaviors, and now he is a completely different dog. Rob has always been available by phone (call/text) when we have needed extra help, and he always checks in to see if there is anything specific that we want to work on during training sessions and addresses any issues we have had. We very likely would not have been able to handle Jax if it weren't for Rob, and we are incredibly grateful. Our other dog, a very anxious 3 yr GSD/Husky mix, used to be scared of absolutely everything, including her shadow. Her confidence continues to grow with training sessions and homework and we're so proud of her progress. Rob meets every dog and owner where they're at and personalizes his approach to fit individual needs. His approach is very straightforward and easy to understand. Like most things, you get out what you put in, so make sure you do your homework. Rob, Robbie and Terry all really care about the dogs (and their people) and make training fun and enjoyable. Overall, our experience with Lion K9 training has not only improved our relationships with our dogs, but also their quality of life. We look forward to continuing to train with them!

We've been working with Lion K9 for almost a year now for our 3-year old schnoodle. We started working with Rob to improve our dog's general obedience skills and managing reactivity, with the hopes of ultimately being able to take our dog off-leash in public areas. After almost a year, I can honestly say that we have seen a significant improvement, and our dog has now been training off-leash for the last couple months. We have also started taking him on off-leash walks around our neighborhood, which we would not have thought we would be able to do so quickly. Rob's training is easy to follow and digest, which especially helps when it comes to practicing on our own at home. Aside from Rob's superb training, he is also a pleasure to work with and he genuinely cares about the dogs and his clients. This has certainly been the most effective training that we have tried (and we've tried lots!), and we intend to stick with it. Can't recommend enough.
