We have been consistently involved in dog training and already participate in a program we love, but we were specifically looking for a high-quality board-and-train option to take River while I recovered from surgery. Eric at Lorenzo’s Dog Training was exactly what we needed. Even with our previous training background and home study, Eric’s focus on dog psychology helped River grow in ways we hadn't expected. His 'heel' is significantly better and he is even calmer! Amazing for a doodle puppy just shy of his first birthday. The way Eric adjusted to River's specific needs was impressive, really showed he loves dogs and pays attention not what individual dogs need. Eric and Lorenzo's team were the perfect choice for this intensive boarding program. I'm looking forward to Eric's group class!

We had a great experience working with Eric Beck at Lorenzo's dog training. Our bernedoodle pup had bad manners and poor listening. Eric boarded our dog for several days and kept us updated with photos and videos. Then when our dog came home, Eric worked with us and our children in our home. We learned to create boundaries, use commands and be consistent as a family. Eric is extremely knowledgeable and great with dogs. We were referred to Lorenzo's by friends and are so glad that we were. The experience was transformational and we are so thankful to Eric and Lorenzo's.

Eric Beck and the Lorenzo's training program dramatically increased our family's quality of life! We have a sweet but energetic golden retriever named Teddy Bear. Teddy was completely unreceptive to my own attempts at training. As he grew larger and stronger, I knew that it was time to call in the professional. That is when Eric came into our lives and changed everything! Teddy was impossible to walk and was so forceful with me that I physically couldn't handle him. In addition, he would run full speed towards my young children - his 85 pounds knocking them down and eliciting tears and screams. Eric was absolutely incredible!!! Not only did Teddy immediately respond to him, but so did I. Eric taught Teddy in a patient, direct, and consistent way. He also taught me what to do, so that Teddy and I could work together effectively in his absence. Eric was also great at explaining the dog's nature and instincts, and why it makes sense to approach training in the way that the Lorenzo program does. My 4 and 7 year old are obsessed with Teddy and are excited to play with him every single day now that he is gentle. Walking him both on and off leash is a pleasure. The crazy dog that seemed to be too much to handle, is simply a joy. He still has that spunky, goofy, lovable energy. The difference is that now, he has the ability to listen and respect me. Eric handled Teddy in such a caring and compassionate way. Teddy absolutely LOVES Eric and is always excited to see and work with him. His passion for animals is undeniable!!! It is this fondness that clearly drives his mission to help each family achieve their goals. For anyone considering using Lorenzo's Dog Training Team with Eric Beck, I urge you to begin! I contacted Lorenzo’s dog training and provided them with information that we needed help with crate training. So, they came out to provide the free evaluation. Lorenzo himself and another employee arrived at our home over 15 minutes past the scheduled time, and proceeded to put a large choke chain over the neck of my 13 pound 3 month old dog. She yelped and screamed as he demonstrated. He also asked me to demonstrate the commands that she knows, and when I did, Lorenzo insulted my use of positive reinforcement, stating that it was “good for cute tricks but not commands”. Well, now my dog is trained using positive reinforcement, and she does in fact listen to commands. At the end of the evaluation, we asked about crate training, since that was the original reason that we reached out. Lorenzo’s answer was that if we made her life a living hell outside of the crate, she’d eventually love to go in. That’s not exactly the type of answer that we were looking for. The evaluation occurred in July and I always debated on whether to leave a review, but after working with other amazing trainers who used positive reinforcement and helped us to train our dog, this experience still sits with me. I’m sure that Lorenzo can find success as a dog trainer using the methods that he prefers to use. However, putting a large choke chain and yanking it on the neck of a 13 pound dog is not my style, and I would advise dog owners to look elsewhere for training.
