10/10 Recommend for all dogs, but was especially good with our Great Dane. We focused on basic obedience for make managing such a large dog in the day to day. Learning how to go to his bed, walk more relaxed, address his personality around new people/dogs, and how to get him to feel more comfortable in new situations. Madison was highly knowledgeable and clearly very experienced in her field. She was understanding that we are regular dog owners, and dont always have the time to train non-stop, yet still provided us all the tools we need to succeed. The private, in-home sessions make it easy to train your dog on their home turf and address the things you may want to work on where they are comfortable. And this is all for a fair price!

When we got our new rescue dog Hendrix, he was 85 lbs of insane Lab mix. He went through beginner classes at Petsmart which helped, but he was still stubborn and reactive and a lot of dog to deal with. Plus he was having issues getting along with our five-year-old border collie mix. Madison at Lucid was recommended to us by our vet, and we reached out to her. She was fantastic! She was very good at teaching us how to teach him which is the key to not having your dog control you ;) We did the at home private training lessons. Now we can walk both dogs together and they rarely react to other dogs or each other and actually listen! We highly recommend Lucid K9 for private training needs.

Madison is the third trainer we worked with for our high-energy field lab, Roxy, and we feel like we finally found the perfect fit for us and for Roxy. Our past training experience included a 4-week board and train where the trainer used an e collar as positive punishment with increasingly high shocks in response to undesired behaviors. Roxy didn't come home from that training as a more controlled version of herself and we never felt good about using the e collar in that way. Madison worked with us at our house, helping us get back to basics and taught us how to communicate with Roxy through leash pressure, appropriately-timed verbal feedback, and food rewards. Madison quickly understood Roxy, figured out the methods she was most responsive to, and helped us be more thoughtful in our interactions. It finally feels like we're speaking the same language! We did, ultimately, incorporate the e collar back into our training--but at the lowest possible setting for Roxy--and it feels like a much more gentle way to give her reminders. Madison is patient, straightforward, and has a gift for thoughtful and individualized training. She helped us set realistic expectations and fit training into our busy lives. I recommend her to everyone I know who has a new puppy.
