We had the best experience with Ben and Anna! We brought our young dog Otto (1.5 yr) to them for basic obedience training, calmness, loose leash walking. He was very obviously not super comfortable in our home, always wanting outside, visibly uncomfortable around our toddler, and also very jumpy. It started getting to the point that I questioned if we were the best home for him. I searched high and low for training that was positive reinforcement. When Otto left for his 4 weeks of training, I was quite literally at my wits end. I didn't know what to do anymore and I felt incredibly guilty thinking this was our last shot. Over his time at Ben and Anna's, Otto was introduced to making calm choices, worked really hard on loose leash walking, and also worked on jumping (this was a big one as I am pregnant). Otto coming home has been the best. Is he perfect? No. I hope anyone reading this understands that while Ben and Anna work extremely hard to train these dogs, the training also continues with you. When Ben brought Otto home he gave us all the tools we needed to continue working with Otto. Ben gave us a really great foundation that we were struggling to create. Otto is now happy, not anywhere near as overstimulated, and is continuing to learn more and more about making calm choices. I will be forever grateful to Ben and Anna, and any future dogs will be going to them for basic training. We recently enrolled our German Shorthaired Pointer in a six‑week board and train program with Ben and Anna, and the experience exceeded our expectations. Ben is an absolutely phenomenal trainer. Our Golden Retriever puppy was sooooooo naughty when we sent her to him! She was mouthy, jumping up on everybody and everything, and could not settle anywhere in the house. Having her join our family was exhausting to say the least! Eight weeks with Ben at Lucky Mutt and she was a new dog! She's so much calmer, able to settle, corrects well, and is now an absolute delight around our house and with our children. We were so excited to find a trainer who focuses on positive reinforcement! No shock collars! Just love, attention, and a deep understanding of what a dog is saying with their behavior and how to correct it easily in the home. Our kids learned so much and so did we despite this not being our first dog! A whole new approach has been so great for us as dog owners! Plus, now having the amazing opportunity to send our pup to Ben for boarding is absolutely wonderful for all of us!
