Make Your Dog Epic

Do not board and train your dog here. My experience: - Getting updates required me calling someone other than Tyler to get a response from Tyler. - They didn’t tell me he was having any health or skin issues until the night he was supposed to already be home. I had to call Marc to find out they weren't planning on bringing him home the night we agreed on. - I insisted on a picture if they were keeping him longer and I received pictures from far away, but could still see a wound on his paw. Only after sending these pictures did Tyler say he thinks my dog’s allergies are acting up. 14 days after having him. I ask about the visible wound and I'm told he's fine but may be licking it. They offer to move him from the kennels into an empty room for the last two (extra) nights to help with his allergies. Tyler claims later in texts that this is the first time they've noticed the wounds and skin issues. - Brennan brings my dog home. He's covered in calluses and wounds. His head is tilted to the side and he's itching around the collar a lot. Aside from the visible wounds, I immediately find two large wounds on his neck from the collar. I check his ear and it's very visibly infected. We can barely do the hand off training because he's so uncomfortable, and we can't even tackle a training walk together. - No one from this company seemed worried or concerned about his health. They just want to schedule his next training session. - My dog spent the next day at the vet, where they had to clean his wounds, shave him, and put him on antibiotics and steroids. The vet clearly says the e-collar usage caused the wounds on my dog's neck. There's bacteria in his wounds on his front and back legs. The vet says the wounds are not skin allergies. - When Tyler finally responded to my message with the pictures and what my vet found, he blamed me, my dog, and his allergies and skin, and says when he heals up they are willing to come and keep training him. - The first walk I took him on the day he returned, he is extremely reactive to another dog, which was the main reason he was doing the training and what they promised to help resolve. - I asked for a full refund because my dog’s leash reactivity is still a huge problem, and they didn’t properly care for him when they had him so I don't trust them to train him. - Tyler said they will not refund, they will only come out to offer more training. My dog has been boarded before, in various scenarios including in kennels, and has never come home with wounds like these. He is also not new to e-collars, and he’s never had wounds like this all over his neck. I was also never informed he was having problems until the night he was supposed to come home, and it’s clear he’s had these for a while. It’s strange I am only told my dog is having “skin issues” the night they ask to keep him longer and only after I’ve told them I want a picture. It was not mentioned on the phone when we spoke earlier that same day, only via text after the photos were sent to me. Tyler offered no solutions beyond coming back to train him on reactivity when my dog heals up in a few weeks. I have spent over $800 on vet bills and have a follow up appointment that may require more treatment depending on how he is responding. Tyler was more focused on blaming me and my dog than showing any concern for the state my dog left their facility in, and he insists my dog is fully trained even though leash reactivity while walking was the number one issue I wanted fixed, and it clearly isn't. Do not board your dog here. Do not work with a trainer who cannot properly use and protect a dog from the e-collars they are training them with. Do not work with someone who clearly does not care for the health of your pet. And do not board your dog at Western Canine Care, even if you aren’t going through Make Your Dog Epic.

We couldn’t be more grateful for Brennan’s incredible work with our dogs. Both of them are naturally very excitable, and we were genuinely worried about how things would go with a baby on the way.
