Manners Matter K9 Training

Sarah was incredible to work with! She trained our almost one year old golden retriever and the difference in his behavior and responsiveness has been amazing. She was patient, knowledgeable, and clearly cares about the dogs she works with. She also took the time to show us how to reinforce everything at home, which made a big difference. We are really grateful for her help and would highly recommend Sarah to anyone looking for a great dog trainer!

I cannot say enough about Manners Matter K9, and the owner/operator Sarah. I am one of the coordinators for a dog rescue in the tri-state area and I have personally worked with Sarah for two foster dogs in my care, as well as requested her help with several other of our foster dogs in the county. Sarah was thorough with each evaluation, came up with a solid plan —including adjustments as needed while addressing my endless questions — and communicated very clearly what each step in the training process was for, breaking down exactly what to do, helping me to also understand the why of each step. I was able to teach my very reactive former foster dog to loose-leash walk past her triggers and manage her crate anxiety much better. Sarah's ability to expertly evaluate a dog and their needs is incredible. We had an exceedingly difficult and animal aggressive dog in our care that could not even walk on leash. It took three leads and humans to steer him, due to his large size and stubborn personality. Sarah saw his potential and took him in for several months towork with him. He is now living in a busy city, going on dailywalks and trail runs, living his best life. This would not have been possible without her guidance and compassion. Sarah advocates for each dog she works with, as well as supports the humans working with them. Her passion to help dogs reach their potential, while also empowering owners to cultivate a relationship to encourage a strong bond, is what sets her apart fromother trainers I have worked with. She truly enjoys what she does, and it shows.

Sarah is incredibly knowledgeable in handling cases like ours. She gave me the tools and confidence I needed to be able to develop a strong relationship with my dog based on clear communication and boundaries.
