Marcum K9 Obedience: Dog Training

I purchased the 15 day board and train package for my German shepherd Amelia. Her start date was August 1st, 2020. I first contacted them when I decided not to go to another training place. It was last minute for them to get Amelia in (because of my schedule) but they worked with me from the start. They stayed after hours to give us an in person meet and greet. The meeting lasted about 45 mins where they explained their background, the training process, and we signed papers. I had lots of questions and a few specific accommodations for Amelia. They worked with me on everything. I picked the color of the training e-collar and everything was set. The day came to drop Amelia off and everything went well. Every day, they sent photos. Then I really missed my pup and requested videos and they have been nice enough to send two or more videos of her per day. I can see Amelia gaining confidence and manners. When she is ready to be picked up, I will go through a training session with Amelia so I can understand the commands and how to use the e-collar. This is a pivotal part of the training process that’s hard to find other training companies doing. I would recommend this training company to anyone who wants quality dog training that turns your life long friend into a life long companion!

We have been so happy with the progress that our Bernese Mountain dog/Newfoundland mix has made by going to Marcum K-9. He is a sweet boy with a lot of energy, but we were amazed at how even after the first 5 days of his 15 day board and train, he was so much more calm and obedient. They take great care of our boy while he is there. This is evident through the text and video updates that we get. It also speaks volumes that our pup was so nervous the first time we dropped him off, then the second time he was excited to see the staff and was loving all over them! We are also so happy that he is being socialized with other dogs in a safe, controlled environment. He used to be terrified of other dogs, but he is now much more confident around them. We love that he is being trained in an environment that adds in lots of distractions once they are ready for it. Before he began his training, he used to listen to simple commands inside, then as soon as we would take him outside or have visitors, he was so overstimulated, he wouldn’t listen at all. I believe with him being trained in and environment with these distractions, it has made him better prepared and more calm in all situations. We can now take him outside without a leash and have people over and be confident that he will listen to us. We have been so happy with everything so far. We highly recommend Marcum K-9!
