Masterpeace Dog Training

I had a rescued puppy and he needed some training. I had heard mixed reviews but decided to give it a try. I had seen some reviews that the owner was rude and I will say at time I thought she was but she may have also been tough because she wants us and the dogs to learn. However, there was one women in the class who had been there repeatedly with her dogs. The owner knew her well. She seemed to favor her and her dog the most. It didn’t matter if the other dogs did the same thing her dog did, it was always about her dog. Not to mention that women was extremely rude to everyone who was in the class and the owner should have spoken to her about that especially if she knew her because it doesn’t look good for them. I will echo what some have said and that I feel my dog didn’t learn much. It was just puppy basics, but he didn’t learn much. I also had a hand surgery and still went to the class the following week and I felt like the owner didn’t make any accommodation to that. Her assistant did though and was super nice and sweet all the time! I did feel like I was scolded like a child a couple of times by the owner and I know others in the class felt the same because they expressed it to me. I am sure for some dogs this training works but for mine it didn’t and overall didn’t have a great experience . We found another place that works great.

This place was recommended by someone I trust completely about everything dogs, and was so glad I checked it out. The staff is amazing and very kind when I emailed them and they answered my questions, and Fran, the owner, helped me read my dogs cues and offer suggestions in a no nonsense way (no fluff, which I love). This place is an hour away from me but can't find a place like this closer so it's well worth the drive. Especially since the play tires my puppy out and she sleeps on the way home and is such a good girl, nice and tired, when we get home. Best of both worlds. 😀 Thank you Fran and everyone that works there!

I can not say enough good things about Masterpeace and their reactive dog courses. My dog was very reactive towards other dogs when he was on leash and I had little control over him. Now, I am so much more comfortable handling him, he is much calmer, and we are often able to pass dogs without any reaction at all. Jen, the trainer, was amazing and so understanding of each dog’s needs. I was hesitant to do group classes since my dog was reactive but they had such a strict and controlled process - I never once felt uncomfortable.
