Maude and the Bulldogs, LLC

We adopted our dog from the humane society and it was pretty clear that he had been through some trauma. He was exhibiting a lot of reactivity, to both dogs and new humans. A friend of ours told us about Jen, owner of Maude and the Bulldogs. Jen was more than willing to help me and our dog navigate through these behaviors. We completed the Liam package. Since adoption, he is now crate and place trained, ecollar trained, and we have seen massive improvements with his reactivity to dogs and humans! Jen is an amazing person to have on your side when you’re starting your dog training journey. Not only because she knows what she’s doing, but because she has an incredibly positive attitude and empathy when it comes to ~spicy~ dogs. She is always quick to point out your successes and wins while also giving clear instruction on how to continue to improve. We have also done boarding with Jen. 10/10 would recommend if your dog thrives on structure. We feel so confident leaving our dog with her! We know that he’s going to get a great balance of activity, rest, play and even some safe, structured socialization. We know that when we pick him up that he’s had a great time and has built on the skills he’s been working on!! We are very grateful to have found Jen!!

I've known Jen for awhile, but recently adopted a somewhat feral, crazy Corgi/Keeshond mix who needed a lot of help and direction. As did I. Jen didn't come at me with her rigid plan before knowing my new dog, she met with me to discuss goals, to meet him, and to listen to my discomforts. She uses tools, but not as a crutch, and if you say you are uncomfortable with some, she listens and pivots rather than corrects you. My relationship with Dipper is so much stronger for the work and structure that Jen put into him and our relationship. She also doesn't train with the goal of turning your dog into a zombie. My boy is just as rowdy, funny, smart, and independent as he was before, but now I have the tools to help him be even better.

Highly recommend! From other reviews, you can already tell how helpful Jen is for her regular clients. But even if you already know how to train dogs, Jen can still provide tremendous value. If you’re raising a puppy, I highly recommend working with her—because when it comes to proper socialization, finding the right person matters. Having someone who truly knows what they’re doing and working with them as a team is always a better choice than relying on random interactions. I love working with Jen, and so does my puppy—she’s always happy to see her! 😊

Our resource-guarding and sometimes reactive dog did a board & train up in Door County. Since we live in Madison they connected us with Jen for more local support. We’ve used her services for weekend trips and a 2.5 week international trip. I can’t tell you what a relief it has been to know our dog with “special” needs will be taken care of and continue with his routine and training while we are gone. We don’t have to worry about the safety of friends/family or a casual sitter and we know Doug is getting both the mental and physical stimulation he needs in a safe and well-prepared environment. We will continue to use Maude & The Bulldogs and can’t recommend them highly enough!

Jen is absolutely incredible human we have used her both for training and for boarding. I stared working with Jen when I was really struggling with my 3 year old bulldog/boxer mix, Lucy, we had worked with another trainer, spent thousands of dollars, but her reactivity towards other dogs was getting worse and worse. She constantly was on edge and I was so sad because I knew she was struggling. Within one session with Jen Lucy’s mindset had completely shifted she was able to fully calm down without being physically exhausted and just seemed so much happier. Working with Jen over multiple lessons has completely changed our relationship, Lucy is now able to easily settle, be neutral around other dogs, handle new situations with ease and be the best patio companion. Jen’s boarding services are also top notch, I know when Lucy is staying with her she’s basically staying with family. I tell her we’re going to Jen’s house and she runs for the door. When we pull up to her house she gets so excited because she knows she’ll have the best time. Jen uses the same balanced approach that she uses in her training with her boarding services and they are treated so well. Knowing that my “high needs” dog is staying with someone who gets her and loves her for her quirks but also holds her accountable for correct behavior means I can travel with ease. There aren’t enough words of stars for me to express how amazing Jen is, working with her is like adding a member to your family who will treat your dog like her own.
