I scheduled a behavioral consultation for two of my young dogs who were experiencing inter-dog conflict in our home. I paid $140 and spent approximately 90 minutes at the consultation. I went in genuinely looking for another set of experienced eyes—not expecting a quick fix . I was hoping for an assessment of their relationship and, most importantly behavioral exercises I could take home and begin working on. Unfortunately, I left feeling that I had received very little actionable help. Much of the appointment consisted of questions while my husband and I sat in chairs at a distant , each of us with one of the dogs on leash . We sat apart from each other for 90 mins as questions were asked . I understand needing history, needing routines , how you care for dogs etc but I was uncomfortable with the way portions of the consultation were conducted. I frequently felt that conclusions were being reached before I was able to finish answering or providing the relevant history. This included comments about my dogs, their breeder, my feeding choices, and even a trainer I had previously worked with. I did not feel I was given the opportunity to fully explain the circumstances. I understand the need for information for history etc to understand the situation but I did expect to be heard before conclusions or opinions were formed. During the consultation, I distinctly remember being told, “There is nothing I can do until you neuter him and put him on Prozac.” My husband was present for the consultation and heard the same statement. Amy now disputes my recollection of that conversation and says medication and neutering were only discussed as potential components of a larger behavioral plan. if that was her intent she did not explain it that way and it does not change what both my husband and I heard or the fact that I left the consultation without a plan I could begin implementing. Rather than immediately posting a negative review, I wrote Amy a detailed private message explaining why I was disappointed and why I felt I had thrown away $140 with this consultation. I received no response. About a month later, after seeing something that prompted me to reach out again, I contacted her by email. She said she had not seen my original message and then responded to my concerns. Her response primarily disputed my recollection and interpretation of the consultation and defended the service she provided. She ultimately stated that she did not believe further discussion between us would be productive. I was disappointed in her response and what I had hoped for when I initially contacted her privately was simply some concern about why a client had walked away from a behavioral consultation feeling this disappointed and maybe we could have talk about it. I did not expect her to solve an inter-dog behavioral problem in 90 minutes. I did expect to leave a $140 behavioral consultation with greater understanding of the behavior I came there to address and some concrete behavioral steps I could begin working on. I did not receive any of that . For that reason, I cannot recommend a behavioral consult based on my experience. I am sharing this not to attack anyone, i don’t know Amy outside of this moment but because reviews are intended to help others make informed decisions again it’s why I chose her. I would just hate for anyone to experience what I did because I chose not to share. I was expecting help , new insight or even confirmation that I was approaching things in the right direction . I was not expecting to walk away with just a sentence and no further guidance. ———- The owner’s response below completely misrepresents my private consultation out of context. I attempted to resolve this privately, before leaving a review which she was aware I would be doing. Now, they are publicly sharing distorted details of my dog's private file to retaliate against a negative review. Please be aware that your private family situation and intake data will not be kept confidential if you voice dissatisfaction with this business."

We love taking our two dogs to MBR for boarding… they get to sleep together in the same kennel & spend time outside daily. The entire process is very efficient and thorough - this is by far the safest I’ve ever felt about leaving our dogs somewhere overnight. Thank you! 💗🐾

My 8 month old mini golden doodle (Murphy) has been training with Amy and Savannah for 2 months. He recently completed a 2 week stay and train. I can’t be any more thrilled with the training we received (me included), the care during his stay, and the treatment by the entire staff. I look forward to our continued journey with MBR as Murphy continues to be the best boy. We trust Amy and MBR.

We have been so happy finding this facility for both boarding and training our dog Jasper. The staff that Amy has put together are dedicated and professional. Amy has on her own time helped so much with Jaspers training. The grounds and kennels are kept very clean. I'm sure that our dog also loves seeing the donkey and the wild turkeys that stroll through the wooded surroundings.
