How can I get to you, to train my dog?. We live in Black River New York, far away from your location
Hi Kassidy. If you would like for us to train your dog at our facility, you'll need to bring your dog to us. If that's not possible, another option for you is to be coached online by one of our trainers so that you can learn how to train your own dog. We either have private sessions or group classes available for that. Let me send you a page with information and costs for all those services. Don't hesitate in calling us at 317-991-5400 and we'll be happy to discuss our different options and see if we can help you. https://www.medicalmutts.org/train-your-own-dog

Can you use any dogs from the overcrowded Hamilton County shelter that is extremely overcrowded with dogs.
Hi Barb, thank you for reaching out. Saddly, all shelters and rescues seem overcrowded at this time. We are constantly looking our for qualifying dogs in local shelters and had reached out to Hamilton County Shelter as well. We would be happy to pull dogs that meed our criteria from them.

How do I go about getting a servis dog for my blind datter that's legally blind throw the state hear eye sight is getting wors single parint 1 income on ssi and I cant work wear having a hard time with raising money to get a dog
Best is to contact a guide dog organisation. We train service dogs for other disabilities but not the type that your father needs. Most guide dogs are provided free of charge. If you Google Guide Dog, you should have several organizations pop up. Best of luck!

I have great pekingese lab mix would you be able to train him for my asthma and panic attcks he is two mouths old and if so do I need to get him fixed?
He does not need to be fixed in order to be trained, no. And yes, Medical Mutts trains for panic attacks and psychiatric conditions and could probably train a few things like retrieving your inhaler for asthma.
I'm an epileptic and have grandmal seizures. My last dog was AKC certified American Pit-Bull Terrier. Will you train this breed?
Hi Tanya,
If you have a Pit with the right temperament to be a service dog, we can either train it for you or teach you how to train your dog. We don't however provide trained pit-bulls as service dogs.
You can find details and pricing of our service dog training services on the following link. You'll also find a link to criteria for the dogs that qualify for our program.

Is there training for Vazovagal Syncope episodes? I am diagnosed with it along with Depression and Anxiety and would like to further myself in obtaining a service dog for these issues.
Hi Daniel, we have trained a dog for Vazovagal Syncope episodes and he is alerting great. That being said, unlike for diabetes or seizures, where we know there is a scent associated to the episodes, we don't have any proof that there is a specific scent associated with this condition. If there is a scent, we also don't know if that's the case for every person. If you do release a scpecific scent before an epidose, then we could definetely train a dog to alert you. If not, then we would be limited to training the dog to react once you have an eposode. If you'd like more information, please call us at 317-992-5400, we'd be happy to answer any question and see how we might be able to help you.

How much my son has a dog needs to be trained for anxiety and post dramatic stress and friend
The initial assessment of a dog you already have is $90. The professionals at Medical Mutts will meet with you, in a public place, to assess if your dog is a viable candidate for Service Animal training. They will also discuss various options available for training & the corresponding fees.

We originally wanted an emotional support dog. Training the dog ourselves allowed us to get a service dog for the same price and we can take anywhere. I believe they only supply service dogs fully trained that they aquire but i could be mistaken. Calling them is the easiest way!

I have completed their group class program with my Staffie mix Coconut. Through our entire journey Medical Mutts has been extremely professional, helpful, and caring. They are always available to answer training questions or to help work on things. The classes were priced fairly for what we received and I gained so much knowledge not only about training a service dog but about dog psychology and how they work! If you are looking to train a service dog this is the place. :)

I have been educated by Jennifer and staff as to how to train my dog for service work. I have mobility and PTSD issues and they are helping me to shape my dog into my perfect companion. I have had the best experience with them. I had looked into other trainers/facilities for this type of work but feel Jennifer and crew have the dog's best interest in heart when helping owners to reach their goals. I can't wait for additional private classes to retrain ME and my faults so that I can be a better handler and teach my dog to succeed in the future! THANK YOU for all you do!
