Our Aussie puppy is significantly more calm and cooperative after attending the 10 day boot camp. In my opinion it is well worth the investment for both the training and the tools (educator, prong collar, ect.). My husband and I were impressed with the professionalism and dedication of the trainers. We also appreciate that we are set up for success with detailed instructions on how to continue his training.

Melissa and her awesome female team are truly superwomen. There’s a systematic approach to their training and they provide thorough training to families when their dog graduates. This is one of the first systems I’ve come across with training done with all the dogs together, which shows how effective the team is. Your dog trains under many distractions and real life situations so when your dog returns, they’ve been fully socialized, learn manners, and know their newly trained owner is going to follow through as instructed. Once your dog graduates training, Melissa’s door is open for dog boarding and doggy daycare. I highly recommend taking advantage of this service, it allows your dog to remain socialized with other dogs and allows you to remain accountable at home. Should you have any fine tuning needed for your dog for a specific behavior or life circumstance, Melissa and team are right there for you. Literally without breaking a sweat or raising their voices, they give a dog a command and they listen which is quite jaw dropping to see in action. Our German Shepherd has gone from good dog with some leash and fence reactivity to an amazing dog. He’s still young and learning so we frequent Melissa’s weekly to keep him around all the other dogs of all sizes, genders, breeds, egos, etc.

Melissa was the most valuable resource not only in training my dog, but in helping me understand how to raise a balanced and respectful dog with boundaries and manners. My dog, Kara, went to Melissa’s training boot camp and learned how to behave in a pack, how to be respectful of other dogs’ boundaries, how to walk off leash with a training collar, and most importantly (for a German Shepherd) to be mellow and centered. I can honestly say that Melissa and her training program defined my relationship with my dog, and prevented so many problems that I’m sure I would have had without her. Having tried training on my own, training with the PetSmart training program, and trying other local trainers, no other program came close to Melissa’s Happy Dogs. I can’t put a price on the services she offers. Highly recommended!
