I adopted a very sweet, deaf Corgi, Chiclet, that was a dumped puppy mill dog. I started teaching him American Sign Language and house pet manners. My other Corgi, Bear, became jealous and attacked when Chiclet couldn't hear Bear's warnings. After getting bitten breaking up fights, I researched training programs for myself and then found a local trainer who was familiar with Method K9. The two dogs are on board and train in "relationship therapy" with both of us humans taking the levels of classes so we can be on the same page with not only the current training but for when the dogs come back home. I am striving to be a more educated dog owner to stop threatening behaviors quickly and keep the household peaceful. I like that Method K9's practices are fair and make consistent sense to the dogs. Even though I am only on Level 1, I am much more aware now of the body language signals dogs give when they are preparing for an attack. Advocating aggressively for my female Corgi, while traveling and on a last walk of the night at a hotel, prevented a loose Pitbull from attacking her. I recognised the signs from my classes and was able to fend off the assault. All dog owners should be getting Method K9's help with understanding their dogs and training.

I initially fell in love with Method K9's free video library and have used this as a resource numerous times. I work at animal shelter and tend to spend most of my time working with the behavioral dogs. I wanted to be able to help these animals to the best of my ability and decided to enroll in a dog training certification program. I looked at a lot of different programs but, kept being drawn back to Method K9. The videos and instruction are clear and concise. Even as an online program, there are plenty of videos and examples to feel like you are participating in a live course. I’ve been a professional trainer for over 10 years. Wanting to continue learning and always be a student, I’ve completed the level one certification and working towards the level two! The level one challenged me to go back to basics and strength my foundational training, handling techniques.
