When we brought our new puppy, Olive, home I thought my 8 year old dog, Addy, would love the companionship; sadly that was not the case. She was mad, and made sure everyone knew it. Initially we thought it was because Addy was annoyed by Olive’s puppy behaviors so we enrolled Olive in training through Michael’s Angel Paws. Her behavior improved greatly, however Addy still wasn’t tolerating Olive, and her annoyance of Olive became increasingly more concerning. Addy was lunging, growling, barring her teeth, chasing Olive into corners, and unfortunately we got in the way of her aggressiveness a few times and ended up getting bit. So, I contacted Michael’s Angel Paws and asked for help. Stephanie sent Michael to the house for a private session. Michael explained why Addy was acting this way, how our response was encouraging it, and gave us simple concrete ways to stop it. By the time Michael left our house the behaviors were already improving. By the next day Addy’s behaviors had stopped and they were even lying next to each other. I realize that consistency is key and that we will need to continue to monitor and use the tools Michael taught us, however I am so happy that we are getting our sweet Addy back. Whether you need basic obedience training, more advanced training, or individual attention for more serious behaviors I highly recommend Michael’s Angel Paws. (And, Michael is AMAZING!!!)
