Michael’s Angel Paws is a Nevada tax-exempt, IRS-appr 501c3 not-for-profit organization that was inaugurated in October 2012. At our core and as of January 2021; we have graduated over 125 Assistance dogs, with over 70 Assistant dogs in training currently.
Our Therapy Teams have over 250 members that are committed to helping our communities feel better and or navigate through difficult times with the help of our loving pups.
Furthermore, we have coached over 5,000 dogs and helped them safely become happy, healthy, and well-trained companion dogs for families all over the Las Vegas Valley and beyond. Many of these teams have gone on to compete in agility, obedience, rally, one of our biggest joys is giving back to community.

The training journey is different for every dog. To become a part of the Michael's Angel Paws Therapy Dog Family, you must pass the American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen Test and the Michael's Angel Paws Therapy Dog Class. Once you have passed the Therapy Dog class and test, you can enroll in the Therapy Dog Program.

What’s the difference between an Emotional Support Animal, a Therapy Dog, and a Service Dog?
Therapy Dogs and their companions are a dynamic duo trained to spread joy and healing through their special bond and interaction with people. These furry therapists, often the beloved pets of their companions, join them on their visits to various locations. While Therapy Dogs aren't granted public access by default, they can work their magic once they receive prior authorization and help others pawsitively everyday.
Service animals are dogs individually trained to do work or perform tasks for people with disabilities. Under the American Disabilities Act, State and local governments, businesses, and nonprofit organizations that serve the public generally must allow Service Animals to accompany people with disabilities in all areas of the facility where the public is allowed to go. Emotional support animals are defined as a dog’s mere presence providing comfort to an individual. Emotional support animals are not specifically trained to mitigate a disability.

I’ve been very happy with training here. My chihuahua started obedience training around 4 months old with group classes (basic and then advanced) with Matt. My pup is a stereotypical chihuahua that doesn’t care for strangers, but Matt was very patient with him and respected his boundaries. Eventually Tank became comfortable enough to greet Matt of his own free will.
I decided to try agility with him just to give us something to do this past month. Fabiola was extremely patient with him as well. He was the only dog in the class that was unsure about the equipment, but Fabi gave helpful suggestions to get him comfortable with everything. By the end of the 5 weeks, he had built the confidence to use all equipment (including the teeter). Fabi read his body language well and knew when she should back off or could push a little more without making him too uncomfortable.
I appreciate that I’ve also been able to email trainers about any issues that arise at home and they will give suggestions or their opinions. They email a weekly review as well, which is super helpful if you forget how to review a command. The facility is clean, prices are unbeatable, and they have strict rules about no nose to nose contact between dogs (much appreciated rule).

My puppy completed the advanced obedience class with Fabiola and we had the best experience! Fabiola is super knowledgeable, patient, and helpful with answering any questions I had. The classes are affordable, and I feel much better bringing my dog here knowing they are a non-profit with a great mission rather than the large pet store training programs. 10/10 recommend.
