Mid-Atlantic Dog Training

We were introduced to Mid-Atlantic Dog training courtesy of a close friend. Her dog's manners and engagement with other dogs was of particular note. Despite considering ourselves experienced dog owners, after our first foray with a small breed, siblings and males, we realized we were in need of help. Based upon our friend's recommendation, and after an initial consult with Tom, we knew we found the anecdote. Tom's approach is clear cut, easy to follow and if you put in the work, you and your pet will reap the rewards. In addition, upon successfully completing the program, he remains a resource for training guidance and assistance. Our fluffy Frenchies, and our family learned a lot and would not hesitate to recommend Mid-Atlantic Dog training.

We had an amazing experience with Tom at Mid-Atlantic Dog Training! Being first time dog owners, we thought we could train our dog ourselves…. We were wrong. Our dog Cooper was only obeying commands when he felt like it and he thought he ran the house. When Tom arrived, he was able to quickly point out things WE were doing wrong which made Cooper think he was the boss. Tom gave us both the knowledge and the tools to properly train Cooper. I think the biggest benefit to Tom’s training is the way he teaches the owner how to teach the dog. in our experience, this method of training has strengthened our relationship with Cooper and made him a more confident and happy dog. We will continue to implement his lessons into everyday life to continue building a stronger bond with Cooper. Thank you Tom!

We had a great experience working with Tom at Mid-Atlantic Dog Training. We highly recommend his services. Tom was very knowledgeable, patient, and a true professional. Through his training sessions and much practice, he helped train Max, our 3 year old labradoodle, to become a better behaved, less anxious dog. My wife and I had an awesome experience with Tom and Mid-Atlantic Dog Training! We reached out to Tom when our then 8-month old yellow lab puppy, Leo, was struggling with leash walking...he would frequently stop, pull, sit down, etc. to the point that walking him was a chore and extremely frustrating. We have now completed training and Leo is a different dog! We walk him 3-4 miles every day, and because of training, he is now focused on us rather than his surroundings. Leo sits at every street corner and waits for us to tell him to cross the street, he doesn't get distracted by other people, dogs, animals, etc., and in general is much better behaved. In addition to the improved walking, through Tom's lessons, Leo learned the sit and down commands, which he is able to do both inside and outside. Before we started training, Leo would sometimes whine in his crate at night...now he doesn't make a peep. Tom is easy to work with and flexible with scheduling lessons. The most convenient part for us was that Tom would come to our house for lessons. Overall, we had a great experience and highly recommend Tom and Mid-Atlantic Dog Training to anyone who is looking for a dog trainer in the Baltimore area!

The experience that I had with Tom was 10/10! I have a 1 year old Cardigan Welsh Corgi and a 12 year old Pembroke Welsh Corgi and to be quite honest I was worried that there was no hope in training either of them. With a 12 year old dog, you'd think they would be stuck in their ways...but ironically the 12 year old picked up on the training faster than my 1 year old! Both dogs are truly night and day different behavioral and obedience wise. They would not listen to any commands (unless bribed with a treat), they would bark OFTEN at people and other dogs, and pull on the leash. Both dogs now know their "place" command when I need them to go lay down for a little while I am doing something, sit/down (with duration and distance), and "heel" to walk at my knee (no pulling whatsoever). Life is MUCH easier when you have dogs that listen and behave inside/outside the house. Tom really gives you the right guidance and resources on how to train your dog(s) and truly wants you as the owner to invest in the training. He as well is 100% invested in you and your dog(s) training and it shows. I look forward to the pack walks with Tom and the rest of the crew that have had an amazing experience working with him!
