We created a system involving a combination of balanced and positive reinforcement-based learning techniques. This makes training exciting and fun for your dog and leads them into wanting to perform well for you. They learn faster this way, which is why we’ve been able to accomplish in a week what other training companies take weeks or even months to teach. Leash manners, basic commands, mouthing, jumping, puppy basics, recall (to come when called), pack structure, reactivity, aggression, and impulse control are a few of the subjects we cover, with a special focus on the behaviors which are important to you. What’s more–and so crucial to our system’s success–we show you the techniques to make these new behaviors stick at home.

How much do it cost
Hi Ta’vearia, my name is Jim. I have two primary services. One is the board and train where your dog would stay with me for seven days and nights for intensive training. That is $750. The other is private lessons, where you would bring your dog each week for six weeks to have me coach you. Here, you’d take the lessons and then go home and work the exercises each week. I 110% recommend Mid Michigan K9 Academy!! My dog Cooper LOVES it there, he started with the week long training and came home with so many new skills and much better behavior. I also have utilized their overnight boarding which is so nice, they send videos throughout their stay, letting you know how they are doing. The staff is so friendly and do so well with Cooper, they truly make it an easy and pleasant process for you and your pup! I will absolutely continue taking him there :)
Really great, caring staff. Very thorough and interactive with your dog. Daily videos of what they are working on with your pup. I would definitely recommend them if you're looking to start training your puppy/dog.
I love K9 Academy! The updates are fantastic and I know my dog is well taken care of when we board him. Having a pitbull mix, I’m always super apprehensive leaving him. He’s done the 14 day boot camp and now we’ve boarded him, I will not take him anywhere else!! Thank you to the amazing staff for loving on him while we’re out of town.

I only trust Jim and the amazing staff at Mid Michigan K-9 with my Bernese Mountain dog (Ara) and Golden Lab (Ginger)! The staff is unbelievable- they treat my pups like family- and the training is second to none. The facilities are brand new and equipped for training of all kinds. The best part is they send photos, videos and report cards at least 5 times per day so you always know what your pup is doing. I cannot express how amazing the trainers are and how much they love every pup under their care. This is the BEST training center in Michigan hands down!
