Midwest Dog Training

I highly recommend Midwest Dog Training and it’s owner/trainer Chris. Though our 4 yr old Bernedoodle Tank is generally a good dog, he had become a barker at the postman, people walking by the house etc. He also was easily excited and would ignore all commands when this happened. Actually he followed basic commands about 50 percent of the time and only if a treat was involved. We had tried various things including an e collar without much results. We decided to board and train him with Chris prior to moving out of the country. Wow, what a difference it made. He will now willingly go in the back seat of our car which he would never do before. He is soooo calm and well behaved and is not barking at everything and everyone. He is no longer pulling me on the leash and is a joy to walk. He still needs the occasional correction if he starts to pull but that is it. Our family can’t believe the difference in him. I wish we had done this 4 years ago. Chris was also extremely accommodating in keeping Tank another week when we had a medical situation out of the country and were delayed coming home by a week. It definitely was one less stressful thing to deal with because we felt he was in good hands and didn’t have to have a family member pick him up. My husband believes that Tank is so much calmer and relaxed now because he sees us the the Alpha dogs and he can just relax and be part of the pack. Thank you Chris!!!!

We have had our two huskies trained at Midwest Dog Training. The first one is Halo. She’s two now but went through a 6-week program in June 2020. Halo came home from training with the same personality, but she was trained! Our second is Halo’s full sister. Her name is Bella and was barely 15 weeks at the time of training (December of 21-January of 22). Bella is a singleton - which is pretty rare and often the singleton puppy is not as social as those born into full litters. Bella is a free spirit and was more stubborn than Halo. She went for the 6 week program and - like her sister - her personality is the same… but she is trained. Bella and Halo are able to be off-leash and follow direction. Thanks so much to Chris and his crew. We highly recommend this program!

Chris was wonderful. We sent him our dog Luna (Labradoodle) in 2019, when she came home she was a completely different dog. Luna knows ALL of her basic commands (sit, stay, down) and has additional commands I didn't know I wanted (place, wait, etc). I was afraid we would never be able to control her and now everyone who meets Luna remarks on how well behaved she is. We can leave her home alone, uncrated, with no worries that we will have a mess and destroyed property at our return. It was nothing short of miraculous. We will be sending him our new golden retriever puppy, Nova, this month with the hope (really assurance) she will also return to us well mannered too!!
