At MLK9 Dog Training, we start by teaching parents how to communicate with their pets using clear commands and rewarding good behavior. Our training methods are based on the science of learning theory and modern, humane dog training techniques. We use positive reinforcement as our primary method of increasing your dog's motivation to learn and to behave in a way that you like better than before. We also use "reward-based punishment," which means that if your dog does something wrong that you don't want him to do, you don't punish him , instead, you simply remove the reward for a short period until he learns not to do it anymore. All of my questions were and are still received with respect and a plan of action is provided immediately. In addition, she was well-loved and cared for while she was there…so much so that she goes to a doggie day care there while I work on a weekly basis! Now my sweet Josie Mae and I communicate very effectively about what I need her to do/ not do- the result is I have a happier dog because she understands my expectations. Again, I highly recommend the MLK9 Dog training program…it has been a game changer for us!

I recently took my two five month old Papillon puppies to Ridgeside K-9 for the four week boarding and puppy training. (I called it Boot Camp). When I dropped them off they were wild little puppies - play biting, chewing holes in the walls, chewing on baseboards, doors, my shoelaces, and all the other disruptive behaviors that two small puppies could get into together. Andy was their trainer and miracle worker! When I picked them up a month later after their training, they were both little gentlemen, their bad behaviors in check. We learned how to continue their training which built my understanding and confidence that I could finally own a well behaved dog. Our puppies are such a joy to be with now and I cannot say enough good things about Andy and Riverside K-9 training. I feel like I have a partnership with them and continuing support and highly recommend them to anyone!
The training my dog received was beyond my expectations. Every person was professional, experienced and patient dog lovers. Andy was proactive, communicated with me consistently and provided the adults with the exact training in order to maximize our dog's training. I strongly recommend them for dog training and boarding. I had complete peace of mind.
