Does modern dog training have board and train program?
Hi Mike- We do not provide nor recommend board and train services. The board and train setup is extremely ineffective overall; the dog will of course respond to the trainer but it is highly unlikely any success will carry over to everyday life at home or for the guardian.
The most effective training option is always private in-home lessons. In this setup, we work together to teach the guardian how to effectively manage and communicate with their dog.
We caution against any type of board and train for safety reasons. There are many facilities and trainers that can endanger and/or otherwise cause harm to your dog both physically and mentally when you are not present.

We had a great experience with our in home training! Kristen gave us weekly reports for us to practice. We have a busy little guy and I now have a great understanding of what I need to do for my dogs and how I can change my ways with them. The best thing I think I took from this is learning how to talk them down from overstimulation and mark things we see daily, turning their attention to me when we see the mailman, delivery drivers or people walking by. We have a lot to work on but we had a great teacher. I feel the pricing is fair for the time and education she put into our sessions, it was booked at my convenience and we can always add on classes for a single rate going forward, which is awesome. Kelsey at Modern Dog Training is amazing, I really could not have asked for a more helpful trainer! I recently adopted a rescue pittie who has some challenges with reactivity and some other quirks. She can be pretty standoffish with new people but Kelsey had her playing and listening and learning within a few minutes after we first walked through the door. I also really appreciated how transparent Kelsey was on *why* certain training techniques work and how to apply them in different situations, because that has set us up very well to continue developing the skills that she taught us!
Whatever your training needs, I guarantee you and your pup will be happy with Modern Dog Training!

Came here for extra training and support for my 2 year old boxer mix. We did the 1:1 private trainings. I had Kelsey who was super knowledgeable and personable. She was really great with explaining why behaviors occurred and what we could do to correct and address them. Overall I was really happy with the experience. Would definitely recommend Modern Dog training to anyone I know!
