Montana Murray Kennels

Nice people but we dropped our pups off Friday at 12:30 and we got back in Monday at 1pm, they were closed (due to COVID) until 3pm and charged us a full extra day on two dogs, so instead of $150 it was $200 for 3 days + 2.5 hrs for the difference of a few hours (hours they weren’t open) Friday to Sat at 12:30 - day 1 Saturday to Sun at 12:30 - day 2 Sun to Mon at 12:30 - day 3 We could have been there within 30 min of drop off time and because they were closed we paid a full Extra day? Not even pro rated? Didn’t tell us this when we dropped them. Never been to a place that does this including rover or wag. This is not good business. I would gladly have given them a 5 star rating otherwise

I don't normally write reviews, in fact this is my first, but after reading the one from Suzy Campbell, I felt compelled to share my story. If you truly need help with your dog beyond the basic sit command, you need to come here. Just because your dog is "friendly" does not negate the need for proper behavior training. A calm dog I have discovered, is a much happier, well adjusted dog. I started at Montana Murray Kennels when my German Shepherd was approx. 5 1/2 mo. old. We started at another facility that used only click & treat rewards. After our 3rd class we were "invited" to leave. All other pups there were Golden Retrievers and Labs, I had the only Shepherd. He had started to show protective tendencies and NO ONE there could help me or show me what I was doing wrong. When I was out in the parking lot getting ready to leave, one of the trainers caught up to me and said... I cannot help you here, but I know who can, she sent me to Murray Kennels. I will forever be grateful to her for that. I originally did not think I would ever use a prong collar either, but I really knew nothing about them. They do not cause pain or fear unless you are improperly using them and you would have to have a very heavy hand with these blunted prong collars to inflict pain. The owner & staff at Montana Murray Kennels MAKE sure you know how to use it correctly. I went home that night and used it on my bare leg to see for myself...there was no pain, and no marks left on my bare skin. It mimics a mother's nip when she is training her puppies. It gets their attention without yelling, without them choking themselves from pulling on the leash. When I take the collar off the peg at home, my boy is so excited, he knows we are going somewhere, no fear, no mistrust. To realize that 90% of what was going on with my dog was ME was actually a huge relief. To find a facility that incorporates owner AND dog training...PRICELESS. I'm not sure how "bullied" factors in here at all, I was treated with kindness and humor. My dog is "my baby." If you have a program like this, of course you believe in it...and when you have successful results from the multitude, well, there you have it. I went from walking my dog at night to avoid other people and pets to joining a K9 drill team with Boomer. The difference is incredible for both of us. We had an off leash dog come after us just a week ago growling and baring teeth and only because of the training both Boomer and I received from Montana Murray Kennels was I able to handle it calmly and without a dog fight ensuing. The owner of this facility and his staff are top notch. To say that I love my dog would be such an understatement, I LOVE MY DOG... and we would never choose another facility.
