Laura is a miracle worker! I have a Borzoi who while he didn't have any aggressive issues, was very much a deal with the consequences later type of attitude. He would bolt from the front door if it was open, go wherever he wanted on a leash, and then thought it was hilarious to play keep away from the owner for nearly 4 hours while having the time of his life in the nearby park with only a GPS collar as his safety net. Laura turned him around completely to such an extent that not only was I able to take him for a leisurely walk with no issues, but he even respected a long line to simulate no leash walking and didn't tug on it even once! Also my dog loved her which he expresses by doing his signature belly up pose with a huge grin. Overall, amazing experience, fantastic trainer, definitely going to be bringing my wife's Italian Greyhound to her in the spring/summer

Laura and her team at Monument City Dogs were amazing with my dog, Dolph. The whole process was organized, professional, and honestly way smoother than I expected. They gave him structure, confidence, and clear training I could actually follow at home. I always felt updated and supported, and you can tell they truly care about the dogs. We can’t say enough great things about Monument City Dog and our trainers, Laura and Caitlin! We enrolled our 9-month-old rescue puppy, Charlie, in their Behavior Modification Bootcamp (five-day weekday school). Since adopting Charlie in June 2025, my fiancé and I struggled every day — between the leash pulling, lunging and barking at other dogs, nipping, and excessive barking throughout the night, we were at our wits’ end. I reached out to Monument City Dog for help, and they replied the same day. We had a phone call that evening with Laura to discuss our goals for the program & some questions we had and were scheduled to start training the following Monday. From the very beginning, Laura and Caitlin provided incredible structure, patience, and a personalized approach that made all the difference. Each week, we saw positive changes in Charlie and also learned how to better communicate with and support him in everyday life. Laura and Caitlin gave us specific goals to work on each weekend during our take-home lessons, which I loved as a first-time dog owner — it gave me the chance to learn right alongside him. We also enjoyed watching the videos they shared of Charlie working with them throughout the week. We have two five-year-old cats that we were nervous to introduce to Charlie, but thanks to Laura’s personalized approach (even including her own cats in training), we gained the confidence to safely start the introduction process between our animals. Charlie is now a completely different dog — calmer, happier, and more confident — and we finally have a positive, trusting relationship with him again. We truly don’t know how Laura and Caitlin do it, but they’ve changed our lives. Our only regret is that we didn’t call them sooner! We’d recommend Monument City Dog to anyone struggling with their dog, especially fellow city dwellers who know how tough training can be in an urban environment!

Hi so I reached out to you over 3 weeks ago about enrolling rocky into your training program for the month of October. You have not responded to the last message I sent on August 6. You offer me a training program for 5 weeks that’s not listed on your website. I was recommend to you because I was told that you are willing to work with any dog, but going 3 weeks without any communication from you is unprofessional. I will be letting the person who recommended me to you know my experience. Hope you have a good one. - when I reached out on August 6 I was asking how early can I sign him up for the October training and you never replied . Maybe you misunderstood my question & if you did you still never responded to get clarification.

Laura and the MCD team are truly the best of the best. Both of our Great Danes went through their training program, and it’s been life changing. As a result of the program, we now have two 100+ lbs Danes who listen, are great around kids, and we constantly get compliments on how well-behaved they are out on walks (especially impressive when you’ve got two giant dogs cruising alongside a stroller). What really sets MCD apart is how well they know your dog. Laura picks up on all the little quirks and habits, things even we hadn’t noticed, and she stays invested long after training wraps up. Whenever our pups board with MCD, we know they’re not just being watched, they’re genuinely loved. It gives us so much peace of mind. Highly, highly recommend to anyone thinking about making this investment for your fur baby!
