Laura is absolutely incredible. She was so patient with our very anxious and stubborn hound pup, and helped him overcome a lot of his fear and reactivity in her 3 week board & train. She also trained and conditioned him with the e-collar, which enables us to take him hiking off leash and has dramatically improved his confidence. She kept us updated on his progress the entire time, and spent a long time with us during the go-home session to make sure we had the tools and knowledge necessary to keep him successful once he returned home. We could not be happier, and Mello gives Monument City Dog two paws up!

LAURA HAS CHANGED OUR LIFE!!! When my wife and I were discussing the best decisions we made in 2018, choosing Laura to train our dog came out on top. Before Laura our dog was a constant source of anxiety and family issues. She was a sweet dog, but completely out of control with guests, jumping and smothering, and a constant source of concern due to her recall challenges (she’s a hound and chases scents). She was also very difficult to walk and could not be left alone for any length of time due to separation anxiety. Laura’s training changed everything! After just two weeks with her she is a completely different dog, and she is a happier dog. Her anxiety has all but disappeared, she’s well behaved with visitors to our home, and we now routinely walk on leash and hike off leash with absolutely zero concerns or challenges. Most importantly, Laura is always available when we have questions or need advice, and she spends the time required to make sure you understand how to maintain and build upon the progress. Over a period of two years we tried three different trainers and got nowhere. With Laura’s help we now have a wonderful canine member of our family who will bring us joy for many years to come. I can't say enough great things about Laura! She recently finished training our Goldendoodle puppy, Walter. Walter spent one week with Laura at 3.5 months old and then a second week at 5.5 months old. Walter is a good dog, but had all of the normal puppy behaviors that were challenging for us to manage. Laura did an amazing job calming Walter down and teaching him to be well-behaved member of our family. Now at 6 months, we take him everywhere with us, he doesn't bite or chew on things, he no longer counter surfs, he walks so nicely on his leash - Laura really brought out the very best in our puppy! I highly recommend Laura!

Recently completed the private lesson package with Laura and I can not say enough about how much this training benefitted my dog and I. Laura is incredibly patient and knowledgeable. I had tried other kinds of training that didn’t help my dog at all and was feeling frustrated and anxious about how to handle a couple of small scuffles between him and other dogs. Laura really helped me think about how to create a respectful relationship with my dog that has helped both of us enjoy our time together so much more. With the skills we learned, my dog is able to share space with other dogs and actually relax. My whole family commented on how different he seems and it is so liberating to feel confident about taking him anywhere and everywhere. Laura was also very knowledgeable about next training steps and recommendations for dog walkers and is just a great resource overall!
