Mr. Dog Training

Sara Sokol is an experienced and skilled trainer of both dogs and their people! The Brilliant Basics class was comprehensive and I feel we have a very good handle on how to help our wild puppy evolve into a well-mannered, happy dog. The classes were fun, and we've seen positive progress from our puppy already. So reasonably priced, especially considering the extra information and advice offered, and the progression of skills makes so much sense. We feel we understand more of what prompts our puppy's behavior and now have the tools to either praise or instruct. Highly recommend these classes!

Sara's Brilliant Basics class was amazing. I've taken several dog training classes before over many years of having dogs, and this was by far the best one. Sara is excellent at explaining and breaking down training tasks into steps that both dog and human can handle, as well as providing detailed behavioral explanations of why things work or don't work with dogs. She's also a complete pro at running this class virtually. It is so much easier being in your own space with your dog than trying to train while distracted with many other dogs around you.

My dog Stella and I have worked with Sara at Mr Dog Training since shortly after Stella arrived from Puerto Rico about six months ago. We have had two private sessions to discuss separation distress and fear of other dogs, and have completed her Brilliant Basics course. If you could see Stella 'before' and 'after' these classes, you truly would not recognize her. She is happy to stay home alone now -- in fact, when she gets the hint that I'm going out she starts acting as if she knows something fun is coming up! The counter-conditioning to overcome her fear of other dogs is also showing signs of success. She is much less interested in them now, and much more interested in what I have to offer. And the Brilliant Basics class is nothing short of brilliant. It's fun and amazingly successful. I recommend Sara and Mr. Dog Training with great enthusiasm!
