Hello Nadima, Unfortunately, we share the feeling of deep regret after bringing you on as a client. From our consultations, it should have been clear to us that we were not a great fit for each other as you do not have realistic expectations given the severity of Mochas problematic behaviors. 3 weeks of structure and consistency is not enough to undue 2 years of you babying him and rewarding negative behaviors, especially if you are unwilling to change your ways. When you scheduled his training, you told us he had severe separation anxiety and shakes when you leave him alone. He displayed aggression and even bit his trainer Sarah during the training process, but no aggression was ever disclosed. As stated in your update emails, there were 2 update emails that were stuck in “outbox” due to technical issues on Sarahs phone. At the end of the 3 weeks, Mocha was a much more confident and well rounded dog, he displayed all commands seamlessly as expected during the turnover process. You and your husband were very pleased at Mocha’s results by the end of your extremely extensive 5 hour turnover. Our typical turnover usually only takes 2 hours but we took the extra time to address every question and ensure you were totally comfortable and confident before leaving. Mocha requires a handler who will take charge and show him what is expected and correct negative behaviors when displayed. It is apparent that this is likely not the case because you feel bad for him. He was not traumatized or abused during training. It usually takes a couple of weeks for a dog to adjust after the training process while they adapt to the new rules and expectations which was address at turnover and you understood. However, Mocha also had to adapt to a brand new home as you moved while he was in training with us and he returned to a brand new environment that he is not familiar with. It can take dogs up to 6 weeks to fully settle in to the new environment which can be stressful. We noticed 1 spot on his neck that was disclosed while he was in training caused from the Nickel in the standard points. If there were additional areas that were identified, you would have been notified about them. After the irritation was found, we promptly swapped the points out to hypoallergenic to prevent any additional irritation. We inspected the skin diligently for irritation after training sessions and did not notice any additional irritation before sending him home on December 22nd. His hair was very overgrown making this process very difficult. This is likely why you did not find any of these spots until you got him back from the groomers on December 24th. If the collar was also not rotated after turnover every 2-3hrs, as addressed multiple times throughout turnover process this too is likely the creation of bruising you see which was not present at time of turnover. Dogs are very active during the training process and exposed to a variety of different surfaces and we practice many repetitions of all commands while on daily field trips. These repetitive motions can cause calluses on some dogs as they are not on a soft or padded surface for the entire duration of training.
