The National K-9 Learning Center in Columbus, Ohio is regarded as a leader within the fields of dog training, behavior modification, and dog trainer education.
The National K-9 Learning Center began offering dog training and behavior counseling services to dog owners in Central Ohio in 1975. In 1981 National K-9 established its School for Dog Trainers with the mission of offering interested individuals the skills and knowledge to pursue careers within the field of professional dog training. National K-9 graduates have created profitable and rewarding careers all over the United States and in more than 45 different foreign countries.

National K-9 trained dogs for law enforcement for many years but currently does not this service. National K-9 currentley offers Professional Obedience Training, Behavior Counseling, Puppy Preschool, Boarding Services, and Bath Services for all breeds and mixed breeds of dogs. I had my Dutch shepherd train there but not for police
The cost and length of training would be dependent on the individual dog and the owner's goals. Before beginning training, dogs and owners are evaluated by one of our certified professional trainers. During this meeting our certified trainer will obtain background information and then be able to recommend training options. Each dog's training is based on the dog's according personality type, behavior problems (if any), and family’s goals, thus making it more cost effective. National K-9 has training programs and options to meet most budgets.

I recently took my Cane Corso to his first puppy class at National K-9. The staff was very friendly, welcoming and informative. They offered great solutions and as well as recommendations to help with obedience and socialization for him. We plan on attending the next 2 classes and furthering his training at 16 weeks. With our breed of dog we felt that National K-9 best suited our wants and needs for our puppers.

I have gone twice a month since January... so I have done SIX 1on1 lessons with Chris and he's already signed up for group classes!!! I left that place in tears because this training has been SO helpful!
Chris takes all the training and really explains everything in detail which I am a big fan of! This has been a long process but also such an exciting process to see my dog go through each lesson and become better and better. Couldn’t have done any of this without Chris though! This place is amazing!

They say they will teach a broad range of training methods but really they just tell you why all the other methods are no good and there is only one right way to train a dog. All compulsion training. Be warned these people are master salesmen!
To National K-9: I did bring up my concerns to the staff. In response, Bob and Chris blew my concerns off.
To All Paws Inn: I assure you I didn’t “screw around” during my time at National K-9. I take dog training very seriously. I have over 20 years in professional dog trainer and am certified through multiple organizations and have a degree is psychology with an emphasis in learning theory. I have done everything from rehabilitating aggressive dogs to training service dog for a large non-profit. My personal dogs compete as top dogs in the country in obedience, agility, and ring sports. The Kohler method (only thing that National K-9’s teaches) is outdated and abusive. I went to National K-9 and other schools to continue my education. They represent them selves as modern and well rounded, which could not be further from the truth. Once you gain more experience in training and broaden your horizons, you will see what I’m talking about.
