New Dogs - Old Trix

I couldn’t be happier with my decision to send out 6 month old Shepard puppy to Susan. Our Belgian Shepard, Reba, was an absolute handful and more than we could handle training correctly for a dog of her intelligence. I was desperate and looking for guidance. When I had my first conversation with Susan I could not have been more comfortable. Susan genuinely cared about the concerns I had with my puppy and offered general advice off the bat. Susan was up front and honest about her methods and general training philosophy. Her methods come from a place of expertise, genuine love for dogs and compassion. Reba spent three weeks with Susan and came home a different dog. Susan was exceptional with communication the entire time our puppy was with her. She sent constant communication of her progress and videos of what they had been working on. The best part of Susan’s program was the amount she had us involved with our puppies training. She had us join on walks and public outings to help teach us what she had been working on with Reba. Susan’s caring and genuine demeanor as a trainer was more than we could ask for. Since our puppy has been home she has been a different dog for the better. She is confident, willing and comfortable. Susan has been available for follow ups, all questions and reinforcement trainings as needed. We look forward to Reba spending time with Susan in the future and could not be happier with the confident dog she gave us. We are so thankful we found Susan.

I am so happy and grateful to have found Susan of New Dogs old Trix to help us with my pup Bindi, a 1 year old (at the time of training) Australian Shepherd. We were having a lot of trouble training her on our own for some problem behavior, reactivity with dogs and humans being the main worry. After training with Susan, it’s like Bindi is a whole other dog! So much calmer and responsive, and so much less reactive. It’s a night and day difference. Our friends and family who met Bindi before and after training with Susan have commented on the difference. And with Susan’s guidance has helped my husband and myself become more confident and trained dog owners. I couldn’t recommend her enough!!

I adopted an amazingly smart border collie-aussie mix from Arizona Border Collie Rescue in December of last year. While he had an amazing friendly personality, he had absolutely no boundaries, nor would he come when called or stop on command. At two years plus, he was too old for puppy school. I found Susan through a mutual friend and dog owner, and Mogie went in for a three week board and train. Susan asked us to leave her alone with the dog the first week, then join in selected outings and activities in the second and third. Mogie's progress was amazing. He no longer played rough with other dogs, and is as attentive as a dog can be. He is well socialized with other dogs (a particular concern with herding dogs) and both of us have learned behavioral tricks to help him calm down when too excited. Susan develops an amazing trust and rapport with the dogs she trains, and we are ever grateful that we were able to utilize her with Mogie. We still return weekly for the Sunday "pack walk" with other alums, and he continues to improve.
