New Paltz Dog Training & Canine Adventures

We've been day school clients of New Paltz Dog Training for several years. We wanted to safely introduce our exuberant, people-loving pitbull to other dogs. I was hesitant at first — the whole pitbull thing — but Valerie and her crew are amazing. They are experts at dog group dynamics and provide a safe, fun environment for all the dogs. Mojo comes home relaxed and happy but not over tired. Adorable side effect: since going to day school, she has much more active dreams with lots of tail wagging and sleep running. She’s 9 now and shows no signs of slowing down thanks in large part to her twice weekly trips to New Paltz Dog Training and Canine Adventures.

I began taking my dog to New Paltz Dog Training several years ago. Valerie and her staff have done amazing work with me and my dog. It’s about the human-dog connection and not just “fix my dog.” She takes the time to listen, educate and give the extra care needed. I have a difficult dog with many issues and Valerie has helped us work together. We have definitely progressed and continue to do so. I board my dog there as well. I have the upmost trust for Valerie and her team, which is important when leaving your dog and someone else’s care.

I really love New Paltz Dog Training, we are so grateful we found them! They specialize in helping people with problem dogs, and my dog had been returned to the breeder because she was “too much to handle”. She pulled on the leash like a cart horse. New Paltz Dog Training has taught me an enormous amount about my dog, and how to handle dogs in general, and I’ve had fun doing it! And, my dog loves it there so much we have continued to pay their very reasonable prices to have her go a day or two a week to work off energy running around with her friends. Valerie has been working with both of our dogs for the past several years - since they were puppies. She’s an amazing trainer and has an instinctive connection with dogs in general. She specializes in helping dogs with behavioral issues and uses a variety of effective techniques that she adapts to the needs of individual dogs and their owners. She and all of her staff are incredibly caring and we never worry about how our dogs fare when we board them at the New Paltz Dog Training Center. We can’t recommend them highly enough!
