New York Wolfpack

To only give the NYWP 5 stars truly seems like an injustice. Our 5 week board and train experience was nothing short of completely life changing, for both us and our 2 girls, Hazel and Juniper. Before reading further, if you needed a sign or a push to send your dog, look no further. No matter your circumstance or situation, we truly could not recommend the NYWP enough and have full faith that your life will too be changed, just like ours. We sent our 2 year old and 5 year old rescue pitties after dealing with reactivity issues and inter-household aggression, for what seemed like forever. Previous to sending our girls, we used 2 other trainers that didn't do much to help our situation that we were really struggling through. We adored our girls more than anything, but really felt like prisoners in our own life because we were failing to manage them and be the handlers and leaders that they needed. We followed the NYWP on instagram and tiktok for a year and a half before finally sending our girls. (Our biggest and only regret is not sending them sooner.) Through so many testimonies and nothing but wonderful reviews, we truly felt confident that this was it for us - we would drive them all the way to Brooklyn, New York from Jupiter, Florida with full faith that it would change our lives completely and give us the life we dreamed of with our dogs. And man, when I say our expectations were exceeded in every single possible way, I mean it. After 5 and a half weeks, Doug drove our girls all the way back to FL and returned 2 brand new dogs to us. Immediately we were blown away at how issues we faced for over a year seemed to have disappeared. Our girls were confident, obedient and happy to work. They found joy in going outside of the house, which used to be nothing short of torture. On Doug's first day with us, we took our dogs into a local brewery in town and sat there with our nearly perfectly behaved girls, enjoying beers and wings. While it doesn't sound like a miracle, trust me, for us it was. We immediately knew, within only 1 day of them returning, that every single penny spent on this board and train was well worth it. (We would literally pay double.) We've had our girls back for one month now and we are living a life with them that we used to dream of. We've taken a road trip to the mountains, gone out for coffee and beer, gone on many Home Depot runs and even go for walks outside of the dog park - and ENJOY every minute of it! Most importantly, I cannot stress how absolutely wonderful Doug and Talia both are. They truly deserve all of their flowers and praise! They are so deeply generous with their time and their knowledge. We text them constantly for any questions we have and we always get an extremely helpful response back within minutes. The wisdom that they have been able to share with us through the course of our time with them has completely changed our perspective on dog ownership, and it is something we will carry with us for the rest of our lives, with every dog we ever have. Not only did our dogs become better dogs, but we became better owners. Good trainers are truly worth their weight in gold and their impact is immeasurable. Coming across the NYWP and meeting Doug and Talia were truly two of the best things to happen to us and our babies. We will spend the rest of our girls lives SO grateful for the beautiful, free life they have given us. It’s hard to describe just how amazing our experience with NYwolfpack was. Doug and Talia are incredible people and trainers, and their board & train literally transformed our life with our dog. We tried 2 other trainers before NYwolfpack and neither were the right fit for our dog. We ended up sending our 2 year old dog Gus who was reactive on leash to them expecting him to come back with better leash manners and management tools, but what he came back with was far superior. Gus's entire mindset and demeanor is more confident and balanced, while still being his goofy happy self. He understands what's expected of him, is fully off leash trained, can sit at restaurants and bars with us, and is calm around other dogs. Not only do Doug and Talia do a phenomenal job setting your dog up for success - they also train you. They’ve taken hours of time to teach us how to continue Gus’s training and handle him in every single environment. We can’t rave about this program enough!!

Doug and Talia changed our life! They go way above and beyond to make sure we understood how to continue their training at home. They’re a wealth of knowledge and exceptionally skilled at what they do, and years later our pup is as happy and well behaved as when he left their board and train. Our dog LOVES seeing them whenever he boards now - full body wiggles and kisses. We’re so grateful for their training!

New York Wolfpack has changed our little girl's life! Nomi was struggling a lot with reactivity, anxiety, and needed help building her confidence so she could feel comfortable around other dogs. Walks used to be a miserable experience for Nomi and we’d often find her hiding in the bathroom when it was time for one. Thanks to New York Wolfpack, our sweet baby gets excited to go outside! She’s confident around other dogs both on leash and off, respectful of boundaries, and extremely obedient with all general cues. New York Wolfpack will give you and your dog a rock-solid foundation and the tools you need to continue training on your own. In addition to all the incredible work they did with Nomi, it can’t be understated just how much she loves it there! Her tail starts wagging whenever we get within a block of the facility for a follow-up session and she greets Doug with big hugs and kisses like a second daddy. We cannot recommend New York Wolfpack enough. Your dog will get the help they need, in a safe and caring environment, while falling in love with them in the process.

I’ve been sitting on this review for a long time because it’s hard to put into words just how deeply life-changing NYW has been for Cosmo and me. Before NYW, we worked with three other trainers and even tried another board and train. Nothing worked. Doug and Talia are not a one-size-fits-all training duo; their intuition and ability to truly see the dog in front of them is their secret sauce. Almost three years later, they still mentor us when we need it and are our most trusted caretakers for Cosmo when we travel. I get countless compliments on how well-trained Cosmo is, and I tear up regularly thinking about the free, joyful life he gets to live because of the rock-solid foundation NYW built with us. To be fully honest, Cosmo was a legitimate bite risk, and I used to get heart palpitations every time it was time to go outside. Doug and Talia gave me clear guidance, boundaries, and expectations so that when Cosmo came home, we weren’t just managing, we were finally thriving together.
