Niki the Dog Trainer, LLC

My wife and I have a pit/heeler mix and an aussie/german shepherd mix. Both were very jumpy, pulled on a leash, very reactive to other humans and animals, counter surfers, etc. - until we got Niki! When Niki came to us, our bubs knew basic commands and did pretty well with them. On our first few sessions, we stayed in and around the home. We changed a few commands to make them more purposeful/true to what we were meaning - for example, "wait" instead of "leave it"...since leave it means you'll never get it, but wait means that there is some sort of release where you can get it. We worked on non-family members entering our home, basic commands, new commands, and lots of reactivity training (especially with leash walking). We then moved to field trips - to the dog park and to Home Depot. By the last session, both pups could greet humans and other dogs without barking or jumping. While we still have reinforcement to keep up, we are very pleased with the growth our bubbas have made because of Niki. She is very personable, learns doggo behaviors quickly, and explains things from a pedagogical standpoint. Niki is the best, we are so lucky we stumbled across her on a random Google search for dog training! Niki is absolutely wonderful with dogs (and people too), she has a great way of explaining things and her communication is far and away more than I expected. After each session we got a very comprehensive and thorough written synopsis of what we had discussed and step by step instructions about how to practice these items on our own. Our Dobby loves Niki and I can tell the feeling is mutual! Niki clearly loves her work and it shows, she was so fun and upbeat, made us feel very comfortable with all the material and she was the best person to have come into your home and help with training! She adapted her instruction to our needs and that flexibility was appreciated! I've already recommended her to friends and will happily do so in the future! My pup Atlas and I worked with Niki over 5 sessions and the improvements he's made have been remarkable. He's a super high energy 6 month old and he's gotten so much better at controlling his puppy impulses and he's great on leash.
