North Shore Dog Psychology

Jeremy and his crew have been life savers for my family. We got a beautiful little Aussie pup in July 2022 to be friends with our older border collie. We thought that our border would be able to teach the little pup the ropes. We had the highest expectations and then the beautiful twists of fate happened. In late August we found out that we were going to be parents within a few months. I did everything I could to get our little pup trained and socialized. I got him into a puppy playgroup at lakeshore k9 at 16 weeks. I got him enrolled in 3 months of training at PetSmart. I tried. But once baby was here in November, things obviously changed. My ability to keep up with him and baby was stretched. We managed several walks with baby and little pup. But I soon found that he had become leash reactive. And it was beyond frustrating to take him on walks when he was barking at every one. Sadly our habit of walking the dogs morning and night ended. It was like once the dog walks ended then a bunch of other healthy habits fell to the way side too: walking in general, healthy eating, self care in general….. Once I was able to balance baby and pup (because I had help) I tried to get back out there with him. But the leash reactivity was engrained. We tried all of the collars, muzzles, everything it seemed; including night walks. Nothing worked. I was so frustrated that I couldn’t give the pup the life I wanted to and that he needed. I was at my wits end, depressed, angry and contemplating finding a better home for him. I was destroyed that I was failing as a dog parent. Our neighbors recommended Jeremy to me as a last resort. As of now, Our pup has been in the pack 3 days a week with Jeremy for about 7 months, and we have seen tremendous changes in our pup and ourselves. We have done several one on one behavioral sessions with Jeremy at our home, in our neighborhood and at parks. He has uncovered what the root cause is behind the leash reactivity, and has helped us become the alphas that our pup needs. I have started taking him out on long walks pretty successfully. Jeremy has been extremely honest with us about what WE are doing that works and does not work. I can appreciate that. As we work on our relationship with this little dog, we are seeing that our family dynamic is better, and we are getting back on track with healthy habits. There is a lot less yelling at the dog and each other. I know it won’t be long before I’m out running with the little doggo and baby…. So long story short… just let Jeremy help you with your doggo issues.
