Northern Neck Dog Training LLC

Our dog Toby was adopted from a local shelter. He is a funny little guy with a few lingering problems. He is hyper alert and afraid of pretty much anything new. We enrolled him in the Polite Pooch Program for a six week course in basic training. Dawn couldn't have been more patient. Every week we went to class Toby got stronger and less afraid. All classes were followed by an email and YouTube videos to reinforce Toby's training and ours. A list was provided for our next training, so we could be prepared to make the most out of class. Bottom line: we were very pleased with Toby's progress and the help that Dawn provided.

We contacted NNKDT in March of 2022 after we took in our daughter's dog who was evicted for being "a restricted breed". Mac is a 70lb American Pitbull that my daughter adopted from a shelter. He was three and a half years old when he came to us. He is very sweet and smart but had no training, a lot of energy and strength. Working with Dawn was the best decision we could have made. We selected the Dependable Dog program and ended up doing all the lessons through zoom. Having that one on one teaching was critical to his success (I don't think I'll do group lessons ever again). Another bonus of the zoom training was that my daughter, who lives in Memphis, was able to participate and learn with us. We ended up moving to South Carolina in the middle of training and zoom allowed us to continue without interruption. Dawn made training so much fun and we became much better dog owners for all that we learned from her about dog behavior. Mac is a much calmer, happier and reliable dog and we are grateful to Dawn for all of the knowledge and experience she shared with us. Mac will be heading back to our daughter this summer but when my husband and I are ready for another dog we will be calling Dawn for training. Thank you Dawn!
