NorthShore Canine Academy - Sophie Amphlett

Sophie was great to work with! We had just bought our first pet as adults – a mini-schnauzer. We picked him up when he was 11 weeks old and Sophie started working with us when he was roughly 14 weeks old. We were sorry that we didn’t start working with her sooner! She helped us develop a lot of trainings and habits that have continued into his active day to day training and life now that he is 6 months old. She provided great advice on a lot of our habits as well. She provided great written resources to ensure we had reminders on the training and she allowed us to make videos of some of the more complex trainings that she did. She was also available for texts and questions outside of our training sessions. She was very flexible on scheduling and was nothing but respectful to work with! We did three training sessions with her and it was worth every penny!

Sophie was great to work with! Her approach with our brand new PWD puppy was so gentle and sweet! She explained things in such a clear way and always let us film the session so we could refer back to it throughout the week. She was wonderful with our kids and so willing to engage them in the training process where it was appropriate. She was quick to respond to any questions that we texted her as we settled in as a family with a tiny new fur baby. She is a real gem and I look forward to working with her again some day!

We had Sophie come over to help train our almost 3 year old dog. Right away, she showed us different techniques/toys to help with problematic behaviors we had been struggling with. Within our hour of training, we addressed the majority of the problems we wanted to accomplish. Sophie provided us with a list of toys/items to purchase to help with training and we’ve already implemented some into our new routine. I am shocked at how quickly our dog adapted to the new behaviors and only wish we could have had Sophie help us earlier. Would definitely recommend Sophie to anyone looking for help with their pup!
