Wow first off I cannot thank the amazing staff at Norton Dog Training for the excellent care and support we have received with our sweet lily girl, while she was away with them in the board and train program, they were very transparent about their day to day operations. We also had weekly updates and pictures which helped relieve the anxiety of our baby being away, I also cannot thank them enough for keeping an eye out on our skinny girl and shared how they were able to get my picky girl to eat and monitored her weight closely While in their care. They have been very educational and I have seen such an amazing difference in our girl, she was very shy and all over the place outside of our home, they have taught us how to lead our girl with not only confidence but built a stronger bond and understanding for our pup. our lives have become much a lot better. 100% recommend them

I have a big doodle that was very reactive and fearful and made it so hard to take anywhere without him lashing out at people and dogs. After meeting the Norton team for a consult and doing a tour we decided to do the board and train. They were so amazing about sending updates or answering me anytime I would message and keep me updated about how Ozzy was eating and his over all mood. Since picking Ozzy up it’s been so amazing to take him everywhere now and see him enjoy experiencing new places and things. The follow up lessons are also the best so you learn how to handle your dog and continue with it at home. Now when I take Ozzy back to the facility for photos or a lesson he’s so excited to see all the trainers. The team at Nortons become apart of your family and are always there if something arises or if you have questions. It’s the only place I’ve trusted my dog to be away from me. We adopted Kevin from Henderson Animal Shelter last year — an extremely sweet but fearful, reactive, and completely untrained 1-year-old. He was great at home with our other dog, but anything outside (leash walks, the car, other dogs, or distractions) triggered total meltdowns. Nothing was working, and I was usually close to tears after outings. We started with private lessons with Brad at Norton Dog Training to assess Kevin and learn basic handling. While he improved in some areas, his reactivity needed far more consistent, high-level training and safe exposure than we could provide at home. So we enrolled him in their 4-week board and train program. The NDT facility is clean, professional, and well-run. Kevin got daily structured training, confidence-building drills, safe socialization with other dogs, and plenty of downtime. They used a balanced approach — rewarding good behavior while clearly correcting unwanted behavior — and introduced tools (prong collar while learning, now martingale + e-collar) tailored to him. While plenty of people oppose corrective training, and some trainers unfortunately do it poorly, when done right (as Norton does), it is never about hurting the dog to teach it something — that’s a common misconception. The trainers, especially Brad, Chase, and Henry, used the right tools to teach Kevin HOW to learn and then taught him what the rules were. Most dogs will be SO MUCH better off if they understand there will be a consequence for unwanted behavior - just like people... It sounds simple, and these guys make it look easy, but if you've ever worked with a difficult dog (and Kev is one of those), you know how much skill and experience this takes. The board and train made a huge difference and we have already seen Kevin handle certain situations we didn't think were possible. Kevin came home understanding expectations, and we’ve seen positive changes we didn’t expect. That said, it’s not a miracle cure. Reactivity and impulse control is still a work in progress, and success depends on us reinforcing the training consistently through more exposure. We continue lessons mainly to improve our own handling skills! If you have a difficult, reactive dog and are willing to do the work, or if you just want excellent obedience and socialization, Norton Dog Training is outstanding. They deliver real, lasting progress through skilled, structured training. Highly recommend — and looking forward to continuing with them! We enrolled our Bernedoodle, Mackie, in the board and train program at Norton Dog Training, and the results have been amazing. Mackie is very smart but also high-energy and a little stubborn at times. After completing the program, her leash manners, recall, and overall responsiveness improved dramatically. She’s calmer, more focused, and much more consistent with her commands at home and in public. What really stands out is the continued support. They didn’t just train her and send her home — they’ve met with us afterward and helped with any training needs or questions we’ve had. They truly care about long-term success. Mackie also loves being boarded there. She gets so excited when we drop her off, and the photo shoots they’ve done of her are incredible — such a fun bonus on top of great training. We couldn’t be happier and highly recommend Norton Dog Training to anyone considering board and train. /
