Off Leash K9 of Northern Virginia

Our experience was exceptional. Our trainer, Dean, went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable leaving our 7 month old Bernese Mountain Dog, Atlas, with him for a 2 week board and train. We could not be more delighted with the results! Atlas learned so much during his time with Dean — he listens and responds to commands quickly. It is clear that Dean did an incredible job training Atlas while showing him all the love and care we would hope for.

We had a great experience with Dean and would absolutely recommend him. Our 10-month-old Australian Labradoodle, recently completed a two-week board-and-train, and the difference has been noticeable since the day he came home. Dean worked with our puppy on heel, recall, place, duration, greetings, and overall impulse control. He came home with a much better understanding of what’s expected of him, while still being the same happy, affectionate, playful puppy we love. His leash walking has improved tremendously, he settles much more easily, and he’s become really good at correcting himself with just a reminder when he starts slipping into an old habit. I also really appreciated the regular updates and videos throughout the training and how clearly Dean explained what our dog was learning so we could continue reinforcing it at home. The training gave us a solid foundation and, most importantly, skills that actually translate into everyday life. We’re extremely happy with our pup's progress and our experience with Dean. Highly recommend!

Our experience with Lily and the 2 week board-and-train program was nothing short of an amazing experience. Our 2 goldendoodle puppies (1.5 years old) have always been sweet, but with a busy family of 3 kids 5 and under, we just hadn’t dedicated enough training time to curb some of the undesirable puppy behaviors.. jumping on people, counter surfing, rushing to the door any time it opened, the whole 9.. 🥴 The booking process was simple and straightforward. Once we got dates confirmed, Lily coordinated with us to have a “meet and greet” with the puppies. This was a great intro for everyone, gave us some peace of mind for who’d they’d be spending time with, and gave Lily an intro to the puppies (and she was able to witness some of those undesirable behaviors firsthand!). During the board-and-train program itself, we were blown away at the daily updates we got from Lily. She sent us pictures, descriptions of what they were working on, and videos to show their progress each day. She didn’t sugar coat it, either - she also shared her thoughts on challenges they were encountering on various skills. It was nice to be involved in the process and to have a sneak peak on what the pups were working on.. and we were so proud with each new skill they were conquered. After 2 weeks of learning and challenging themselves with Lily, these pups are still their sweet and goofy selves, but those unwanted behaviors are virtually nonexistent. We had an in-depth pickup session with her at the end of the program, where she took the time to showcase what the dogs learned (and unlearned!) - and more importantly - to show US what we’d need to continue to enforce once we transitioned back home with the pups. This session was invaluable, and we really appreciate the time she took in doing this with us. (She provided a digital transition guide for us to refer to at home, too! Completely customized for our dogs and what works best for them..) We’ve also really appreciate the way Lily embraced our family as a whole - letting our kids be involved in the pickup session so that they could also be part of continuing the work when we brought the dogs home. Our 5-year-old was especially interested with in “helping”, and she’s retained many of Lily’s lessons now that we’re home, too. We’ve had our dogs back home now for a little over a week. We are all enjoying our time together MUCH more than before - completely thanks to the fact that those undesirable behaviors are no more.. the dogs understand the expectations for their behavior, and we know the techniques for how to reinforce those expectations in the off chance they get a little bit crazy in the moment. It really is night and day - and we owe it all to Lily’s expertise and her dedication to helping us get these cute pups under control. 10/10, would recommend.. worth every penny!
