Off Leash K9 Training

As a first time dog mom, who didn’t grow up with dogs and has a bit of a perfectionist streak…..I was worried about sending my girl away for training. Wow did we hit gold with “Auntie Jacq”! Jacqueline Zinetti is professional, knowledgeable and truly gets to know your dog as if it were her own. On drop off day my pup accidentally jumped out of the car and was running around the parking lot. We had to catch her before she potentially ran into the street. Now, I dont worry about that AT ALL. Jacq trains your dog for “the real world (or at least our real world)”….strollers, bikes, hair ties and socks left on floors, counters with food on them, other dog encounters (bigger than they are and smaller than they are)…the list is endless. Not only does your dog know what to do, Jacq then trains YOU how to communicate with your pup in this new language they have learned. The training for the human is very differentiated. Jacq puts as much time and effort into getting to know you “the human” as she does getting to know your dog so she can best execute teaching YOU how to handle your dog. Jacq's follow up is exceptional; we spent 30 minutes going through a 90 second video of what we were doing well and where we needed to improve. We attended a couple in person group follow up sessions which were an excellent reinforcement for both my dog and me. Seeing other people make the same mistakes and us all learning together was invaluable. Lastly, having “Auntie Jacq” on speed dial is life altering; she is always there (weeks and months later) to answer any questions I may have.

My experience with Jacqueline Zinetti has been absolutely amazing. I have a purebred Chihuahua (1 year old),initially we saw a different trainer who introduced her to the E collar and a prong collar, it went horrible. She was terrified of wearing anything collar harness leash you name it she was scared to death of it. She would shut down when approached with any sort of training tool or when asked to do basic commands. I purchased this dog with the intent on her hopefully being my service dog in the future, I thought all hope was lost, and that I ruined my relationship with my dog. I felt i had failed her, and couldn’t reverse the damage emotionally that was done to her by using someone who didn’t understand how to handle /work with small dogs. I had been calling around with no luck on finding the right fit for us as most people wont take you seriously with a dog under 10 pounds. Luckily we found Jackie, after seeing she has 2 little dogs of her own one being a full chihuahua I reached out to her for help to save my dog and our relationship. She absolutely saved my dog. She took her and treated her with the same care you would give your own fur baby. She has been understanding of our needs and gone above and beyond for us. I have a disability, and the way she took the time to break down each step to make it easier to understand my dogs body language and how to better communicate with her was beyond helpful. My dog came back better than ever! We now have a fantastic relationship where we can communicate in a way that’s helpful to both of us. She understands what is expected of her and we are able to be a true team. With Jackie’s help we are becoming better and better each day and on track to getting our canine good citizen certification. If you have a small or toy breed dog and your looking for training she is the absolute best!

If you are thinking about training your dog, you’ve come to the perfect place! Jacqueline is the best! She has made a world of difference with our 1 year old Aussiedoodle, Emilio. Emilio had never been trained, pulled his aggressively leash during our walks, barked constantly at other dogs in the street, did not know any commands, and had severe separation anxiety issues. It was impossible for us to leave Emilio alone because he would bark non-stop. Like any dog parent, we were very concerned about leaving him for 3 weeks. We also did not know much about how e-collars worked. Jacqueline walked us through everything, explaining with detail what the training consisted of and what it would address. After our conversation with her, we were confident that Emilio would be safe and that this would be the best for him and for us. Another factor that weighed on our decision to choose Jacqueline as Emilio’s trainer was the fact that Emilio would be living with her and would socialize with her dogs. Throughout the 3 weeks of training, Jacqueline kept us informed of Emilio’s progress. She was always available to respond to any questions or concerns we had. She sent us photos and videos of Emilio. We could tell Emilio was having fun with her. When we went to pick up Emilio, we were amazed with his transformation. Emilio was the same happy dog, but now he was well-behaved and responsive to commands. The e-collar is a great tool and has done wonders for Emilio. He is staying calm in his crate for the first time ever (he actually loves being there) and doesn’t pull on the leash anymore. Jacqueline is the best at what she does because she not only trains the dogs, but also teaches you, the dog owner, to better communicate with your dog. After the three weeks, follow-up sessions are necessary for the learning process and extremely helpful. Jacqueline has taught us how to use the e-collar and takes time to review the videos we send her of our practice sessions with Emilio. She gives us step by step analysis of the video and guidance to correct our mistakes. Jacqueline’s passion for dogs, knowledge and professionalism, make her the best person to trust your dog with. We will strongly recommend Jacqueline to every dog owner we know.

There aren’t enough stars to describe Jacqueline Z. I wanted my 10 month old,10 pound yorkie, Tony, to be a well behaved dog but I was VERY hesitant because of his small size. Well, scratch that. Jacqueline took me through the ‘’board and train program’’ step by step. Well, bringing Tony to Jacqueline was the best decision I ever made regarding Tony. I was constantly kept informed by videos/texts/phone call. Even after Tony came home, Jacqueline always made herself readily available to answer my questions not only about training but diet and health. Jacqueline is a dog whisperer. Tony was a spoiled(my fault) sweet puppy and came home a sweet well behaved puppy. Also, Jacqueline offers post trading sessions with dog and owner. You never feel you’re out there with no where to turn. I want to give the highest recommendation to Jacqueline. Look no further.

Jacqueline is excellent and a master of her craft. We have always raised our dogs to be well-behaved with good manners (basic sit, stay, down, no jumping on people, not destructive, etc). But when we were in the process of getting Otter four years ago, we knew we wanted to hike off-leash with him and recognized we did not have the time to get to as strong a recall we would be comfortable with. So I researched and found Jacqueline before we even had our new puppy home. I called Jacqueline to talk about the e-collar, not being familiar and having some concerns. She explained the training, how the collar worked and her general philosophy. I immediately knew my puppy was going to boarding school with her! We first met Jacqueline when Otter was about 10 weeks old for a puppy session (not sure if she still does this in covid land). We worked on food training with verbal markers because of his age and when Otter was about 4 months old, I reached out and got on the schedule for 6 months old. Otter is a super-cautious pup. Jacqueline did not rush his training and spent the first week becoming his new best friend. After a few weeks of training, it was time for US to be taught! Fast forward, three years and a new puppy. As soon as I had Sprocket's ETA, I reached out to Jacqueline to discuss his board and train. It took me a bit to get in touch with her because she is always SUPER busy but once you get her, she will give you the time and focus on you and your pup! Where Otter is cautious, Sprocket is outgoing and mischievous, a completely different personality type. Jacqueline adapts her training techniques to each individual dog's personality and then teaches you how to work with "your" dog versus a generic dog. The follow ups are super important training for the human part of the team. Even having gone through the process with Otter, I'm learning new things at each follow up... as Jacqueline always says, EVERY DOG IS DIFFERENT. And since Jacqueline had trained Otter and knew I'd be working with both dogs, Otter's been incorporated into Sprocket's follow ups. It's a whole different ballgame working with the two of them at the same time. Jacqueline watched how the two dogs interacted, and more importantly, how they were with me. Jacq then developed a strategy for what would work best for my pups and I. With respect to the e-collar, when used properly it really is simply a communication device. Jacqueline teaches you how to use it on pick up day. However, during the follow ups is where you really master it. This is another instance of not one size fits all. Her recommendations are customized to your dog. Both our dogs are happy to see the collars in the morning and it's great to be able to give them some freedom to explore without a tether. It also provides a non-verbal avenue of communication if you need to correct an unwanted behavior while still being the “good guy”, which is excellent. I can call them back to the house without saying a word or avert a dangerous behavior upon observation (attempting to jump over the fence, eating something inappropriate, etc). It is another tool in the toolbox and Jacqueline provides the skills to use it properly. It's great being able to hike with the dogs off-leash. Of course, nothing is guaranteed, but we've put our training to the test on multiple hikes with deer, squirrel and all sorts of other fun things to chase and feel comfortable Jacqueline has helped us minimize the risk to an acceptable level for us. As numerous people have already mentioned, at the end of training, your dog also has an awesome understanding of sit, down, place, walking at a heel, walking generally with you, etc. Fully recommend and will be calling again whenever we get our next pup.
