Off Leash K9 Training, Charlottesville

We had a fantastic experience with Off-Leash K9 Training in Charlottesville! Our trainer, Tyla, was incredibly patient and detail oriented with training our two pups, Croix and Dixie. Our pups struggled with separation anxiety, leash/door manners, and overall confidence. From day one, you could see the dedication and sheer patience Tyla had for dog training. Croix was terrified of virtually everything before training, but with Tyla’s help hes able to handle loud noises/kennels/etc without running in fear. Dixie also made such great progress from the two week board and train program. She struggled with running to the door/jumping on others, but through the board and train program she’s able to listen/follow commands! Tyla provided updates on both pups training and well being nightly, even going out of her way to throw a birthday party for Croix! We will be “furever” grateful for the impact that Tyla made on our pups!

I got Waterbug from the shelter and he was a very defensive and scared dog, he bit me a few times and it was starting to get pretty scary trying to take him anywhere. Even after seeing him freak out and bite me, Lauren still was excited and willing to take him in for training. She helped Waterbug work through a lot of his anxieties and fears and it's amazing to see how much progress they made in such a short time.

We are so thrilled with the results of the 2 week board & train for our dog Cooper (Cavapoo, age 1 Year). Our trainer, Tyla's gentle but firm approach with him has really set us up for success at home. The daily summaries and videos of Cooper's progress was an added bonus because we could see his progress day by day. We also appreciated the time that Tyla spent with us on pickup day. That was really invaluable as she helped us to understand how to use the e-collar and "be more stubborn than Cooper." Since returning home, it's been nice to be able to be outside with Cooper and feel confident that he will come when called! He is still a bundle of energy but its channeled in a safer, more constructive way. We definitely feel more comfortable taking him with us wherever dogs are allowed!

Off Leash K9 is super! They helped our Daisy tremendously. We cannot say enough good things about them. Daisy is a beatzu and has many qualities of the beagle part of her. Test everything asked of me and then test again!!! Grab everything I should not and run!!! Then we got assigned to Jacob! Daisy’s life changed for the better, BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY, so did ours. Jacob is an excellent trainer and communicated with us above and beyond every day she was in training. She has been home 24 hours and is a completely COMPLETELY changed dog for the better. We are so grateful!
