Off-Leash K9 Training - Denver

I can’t say enough about Derek and Stevi at Off Leash K9 Training. My dog Nigel. A 3 year old Potcake came to them as a reactive dog on leash — the kind where passing another dog on the sidewalk felt like defusing a bomb. To make things more complicated, I had just moved to a new city and was recovering from arm surgery following a car accident, which made handling him physically really difficult. Sending him to board and train wasn’t just a convenience — it was a necessity. What I got back was a completely different dog, in the best possible way. Nigel can now share a sidewalk with dogs of any breed without losing his mind. He rides elevators calmly. The anxiety I used to carry every time we walked out the door? It’s gone. I actually enjoy our walks now. What really stood out beyond the results was how clearly Nigel loved Derek and Stevi. You can just tell when a dog trusts someone, and he absolutely did. They also sent daily training videos, which meant I could watch his progress in real time and feel connected to the process even while I was recovering at home. That meant more than I expected it to. If you’re on the fence, don’t be. These two are the real deal. Also the lifetime follow up for Nigel is impeccable anytime I’ve been concerned with how I’m continuing his training I’ve been responded to promptly with thorough explanation.

I can’t say enough great things about Denver Off-Leash K9, Derek, and Stevi! Derek was Benson’s main trainer, and Stevi was also a big support throughout his training. We enrolled our 9-month-old Great Pyrenees, Benson, in their 2-week board and train program, and the results were incredible. I was initially nervous because Benson is very anxious in crates/kennels, but the team immediately reassured us and helped him adjust quickly. We received daily video updates of his training along with detailed explanations of what he was working on and how he was progressing, which I absolutely loved. Over the 14 days, Benson went from a stubborn giant-breed puppy to a dog who can reliably follow commands. At pickup, Derek also gave us clear, simple follow-through training (just a few key commands) so we could stay consistent at home. Since bringing Benson home, we’ve continued practicing daily and have seen lasting results. We’ve also learned how to manage his anxious and stubborn behaviors much more effectively, and there’s now a much better sense of structure and respect in our home with both our dogs. We’ve now had Benson home for almost 3 months, and the support has continued beyond training. Anytime we have questions, we can text Derek or Stevi and get same-day responses with helpful guidance, which has been amazing. Even my whole family has been impressed, especially with the daily videos we received during training. We are beyond happy we chose this program and feel extremely supported. Highly recommend, it was worth every penny!!

This place is amazing! I first met with Stevie at their free one hour consultation. We discussed all the different options they had for my dog, Dexter, who was very reactive to other dogs on a leash and had started showing food aggression with other dogs in the house. After thinking about the best option for Dexter, I opted for the 2 week board and train. Everyday I received updates and videos of Dexter's progress! I could see improvements in him everyday. Derek and Stevie took Dexter to busy parks like Wash Park, stores (Lowe's and Home Depot) and malls for his training. When I picked Dexter up, Derek spent and hour and half going over the training so that I could continue it at home. They also provided me with an e-collar. For those concerned about the collar. You need to know it isn't a shock collar. It feels like a tens meter that people use for physical therapy. The first walk I took Dexter on when we got home, he was a whole new dog. The change in him was astronomical. I can't thank Derek and Stevie enough for all they did! You can tell they really care about all the dogs they work with!

I can't say enough great things about this program, We brought Loki, (8yr Male Aussie) who is a handful (understatement) to Stevi for the 2 Week program, and we could not be happier with the results. We were at our wits end with him, we would never give him up, but the strain of his behavior, was more than both my wife and I could handle. He now walks easily, follows commands, and is the Dog we knew he could be. Thank you Stevi! with the success of Loki, we took Bear (12yr Female Aussie) to the program for a week with Loki to get them on the same commands, etc, Bear was trained by Derek, who did a wonderful job with our sassy lil monster. Brought them the 2 monsters, brought home the Dogs we knew they could be. The Key, was not only training the dogs, but training the Human as well, I needed to learn to be alpha, and handle my dogs correctly. Stevi & Derek did a wonderful Job with the me and gave me the confidence I needed. 5 Stars is not enough. I Highly recommend them both with the most confidence. 100/100 stars!
