Off Leash K9 Training, Duluth

I'll start my review off with the fact that I did not use their services officially, I went in for a free meet and greet. Positives: facility was relatively clean (at the entrance lobby), staff was relatively friendly (to me), they did follow up post appointment with me. Cons: I came to the facility from about 35min away in a Uber Pet, so I paid a bit extra to bring my dog to the facility for him to meet the team/trainer. But they did nothing of the sort. It was a waste of a visit, the trainer didn't even come from behind the desk to say hi to my dog. Or pet him or anything. It was akin to talking to a representative over the phone they just asked if I had any questions but didn't run me through any of the programs, or what a training session looks like. Nothing. It was very strange. they did show me the e-collar, I didn't like the look of it, it's just an electric gadget on a Black rubber collar, because it looks like a device that you put on someone who's incarcerated and it just gave me all the bad vibes. They took it out of a brief case and everything, it just creeped me out I can't lie. I was able to test it on myself, it wasn't bad at all, just a little startling and twitchy feeling. Also there's absolutely no where to sit. This was really uncomfortable for us because, I waited for more than 10+min in the middle of my meet and greet because someone dropped off their dog for a board and train (I'm assuming) and they needed to chat with them. They didn't apologize for the wait, or anything. Just lack of customer service. And some of us have disabilities and not having anywhere to sit is really poor taste and accomodation. My back and feet starting hurting. I really didn't like that I brought my dog all the way there, on one of the hottest days in the summer, was told in email that if I was 15min late they would cancel the meet and greet, then when I showed up, they didn't do anything to make us feel comfortable or get to know my dog or anything. They told me I could bring him along to get acquainted, but they did nothing of the sort. The other customers who walked with their dog meet and greeted my dog better than the trainers at the place. Weird AF. I also read some creepy reviews of this place that I didn't know was a franchise so I will not be using this service for my dog.

Paige was exceptional about keeping us updated on Beau’s progress through emails and videos or pictures. We were so impressed with the progress we saw in him. She consistently checked Beau’s health & let us know of any concerns - when his eye became red, she offered a visit to the vet. When we went to pick him up, she was great to walk us through each of the things he had learned and how to continue to work with him on his new skills. These included having him hold in one place, walking without pulling on the leash, heeling, and accepting visitors into the home. She reminded us that her program included unlimited reviews. Great experience overall.
