FirstBarkWe just sent our 2nd dog to K9 off leash. While our dogs are still dogs, they are much more managable and have better listening ears. We feel much better about traveling with them or taking them out in public! Our trainer worked with us and answered all questions we had. He showed us how to manage our dogs better at turner over. I brought my dog Spirit to k9 for the therapy dog development course this Spring and could not be happier with the results! Krystal provided us with strong foundational skills and also tailored the lessons to our unique needs. In particular, my dog had issues pulling in his leash and showed reactivity around other male dogs. Krystal showed me techniques to use to decrease this behavior and we practiced enough so both spirit and I could become comfortable implementing these new strategies. Krystal was very down to earth and professional. She was easy to communicate with and really took the time to make sure we were benefiting from the course. I would highly recommend her :) My only wish is that we did this training sooner as it would have saved us from a lot of unneeded stress.
If you want to learn how to behavior train your dog (where you learn a lot yourself) or have board and train opportunity, I would recommend Off Leash K9 Training. Between working out a schedule with Beth on the phone and our trainer Devon- our German Shepherd "D" has learned so much, and we still have 3 lessons to go before we finish our 8 total.
Our trainer Krystal did a great job of getting us comfortable with use of the e-collar system in a patient and humane way. She was excellent at reading reactions as my puppy expressed frustration during training and showed additional techniques as needed to keep her engaged and learning. Overall obedience is vastly improved in a mere month! We used the Basic Obedience package.
Krystal was an excellent trainer for both our dog and us. It had been a long time since we had a puppy so we wanted to start him off with the right training. Krystal was patient and explained everything we were doing and why. It made the training a great experience for both us and our new dog!
