Took the leap with my last effort to help get my GSD, Raven, on the right track with training. It seemed everything I did before we started the program wasn't working. But let me tell you, after 8 weeks of the basic and advanced lessons at Off leash I am amazed at how confident Raven is today and how smart she really is! I couldn't take her anywhere without her pulling, tugging, not listening, and barking at everything in sight. Now after training, complete 360! She walks beside of me in her heel command, shows more confidence in public places(doesn't bark now when a stranger passes by), sits, stays, and comes to me with ease! Krystal Boothe was my trainer and she made our experience enjoyable! I would recommend this program 100% to anyone that has a dog that just down right is not listening, or to anyone that wants to have that little extra confidence boost! Thank you Off Leash K9 in Christiansburg!!

Willow is a completely different dog outside after her obedience and advanced lessons! She used to pay me no mind at all outside and now she is completely off leashed trained with 100% recall. Most of the time I don’t even have to use her remote because she listens the first time. Krystal really helped me get to this point with Willow. I get compliments on how well trained Willow is now every time we go off leash in public. She loves the freedom she has and this was the best training I could have done with her.

So happy with my training with Krystal! Took my 1 year old Golden Retriever for 4 obedience classes. I was skeptical at first because I thought she was “well behaved” but I’m so glad I did it. She now listens to me even with distractions, loose leash walks, and is now set up to learn even more. Well worth it! Well behaved and trained are completely different!

I cannot rave enough about our positive experiences with Off Leash! Before we met, my significant other and his pup went through Off Leash training. When I got a golden doodle puppy, he instantly recommended the program. Our trainer, Krystal, was incredible. She got to know Plum and myself and tailored our lessons to fit our needs. We did the basic + advanced set, as the advanced lessons really allowed us to hone in on habits specific to Plum. Krystal made sure all of our concerns were addressed, made suggestions specific to Plum’s personality, and helped to make sure we meshed commands/signals to fit both dogs’ needs. We are now 6 months out from our last lesson and feel so much more confident with the pups on and off leash.

Part-1 We now live in Biloxi, Mississippi, on the Gulf Coast. About 10-years ago, I took my dogs to OLK9 in Virginia. I needed to have the dogs off-lead, return on command, not bum rush the door, etc, but I didn’t want to break their spirit. OLK9 really came through for us. My dogs have had the opportunity to live long and happy lives OFF LEAD. About a year and a half ago, we lost our oldest dog, Max. Devastating for us as he was truly a part of the family. We weren’t looking for another dog, but as fate usually works, one found us. Another GSP, Cooper… We had forgotten what it was like to have a puppy around, a lot of work indeed! We waited until he was 9-months-old and started calling a local dog training business in Gulfport. After a less than confidence inspiring exchange of text messages, we never heard from them again. Very disappointing. We called Blacksburg OLK9 and received immediate attention. They are well established and maintain the quality of training and professionalism we were looking for and had experienced years before. We booked a 2-week Board-And-Train for Cooper. As the time to drop off Cooper grew near, we experienced much angst in trusting our dog with anyone. Kim was the trainer who would be taking Cooper and we expressed our concerns to her. Kim was confident in the OLK9 methods of training and also understood the energy level of the GSP. She had been successful in hundreds of past training endeavors and earned our trust regarding Cooper and his training. On the day we left Cooper with Kim, I will not admit to tearing up, I’m certain it was allergies. Our little boy, whom had never been away from us, was now being left behind. Within hours of dropping Cooper off, we received a text message from Kim. Was Cooper too much to handle? Had something gone wrong? Nope… in this short time, Kim had already trained Cooper to sit by an open door, not rush out. Still photos and video showed Cooper sitting by the open door, just as Kim had told him to! We could see from the pictures that Cooper was smiling too, and that was just as important to us as the compliance.
