Around September of 2024, my husband and I rescued a puppy from a very bad situation of neglect. Mingo is a lab mix with a healer breed of some sort. Because of her past, she was extremely fearful of everybody new. Absolutely went into a frenzy, trying to go after anyone on a bike, skateboards or loud vehicles. She had absolutely no leash manners. Mingo definitely would try to control us in the household by trying to herd us off of the couch, or continuously bark at me when I was not paying attention to her. She would continuously bark at any noise outside. Her anxiety was out of control that her vet put her on some anxiety meds daily. She definitely made our lives chaotic and stressed.
Sending her to work with Chance and Off leash K9 Training out of Dayton for a two week board and training was the best money I have ever spent!! Chance is an Amazing trainer who has an extremely confident demeanor and treated Mingo with nothing but love and respect! Mingo is a brand new dog now, who has confidence in herself and she respects us. She knows how to “just be” and is no longer trying to control us, nor is she on the anxiety meds!!! We really enjoy taking her on walks now, it is so relaxing and brings so much joy to see her being a happy puppy like she should be!! Thank you Chance for improving the quality of life for our Mingo, We sincerely appreciate you and all the work that you put into her!

I was not going to leave a public review on the terrible experience we had there specifically with one trainer and will not speak on the entire organization. However after reading the review from Kassidy Furst that posted three months ago, I am. What she is saying is 100% true. If your dog reacted positively to that type of training, that’s wonderful. However not all dogs are the same and should not be “corrected” using the same methods. Our dog has anxiety with reactiveness and had her in the 8 week in-person basic and advanced training. Week 1-4 went well until week 1 of the advanced obedience where the trainer layed on the e-collar at a high continual level it confused her on what the trainer even wanted her to do. We thought that was part of correcting her anxiety until week 2 of the advanced training it turned into high enough shock that our dog yelped and squealed so loud it set off some type of alarm in the facility. This all happened in our presence. Her squealing made a dog there we didn’t see for board and training (per the trainer) in what we assume was in a cage from another another room, bark enough that the trainer used the remote he had kept in his pocket for that dog to command easy. I wouldn’t think an e-collar would need to be kept on a dog that is in a kennel’s cage. When I called to voice my concern advising she was recently diagnosed with a medical condition and wanted to restart the advanced lesson after she completed her medication, we were accused of not working with our dog during off days which simply wasn’t true. We never asked for a refund but kept being told the same “they don’t do no refunds”. We simply wanted to ask for a redo on week one and two since they, nor we, were aware of a medical issue during that time that may have caused the extra frustration with our dog and clearly the trainer. We soon felt scabs from burns on our dogs neck left by the high volume, constant shock. DO YOUR RESEARCH if your dog has anxiety and is reactive. Punishment corrections makes it worse for your dog if e-collars are not used correctly. Kassidy is not the only one in 15 years to have a complaint, they just bully people into claiming defamation when you address a concern. He was unprofessional when questioning a concern and told it’s your fault instead of addressing the questions or concerns. The owner was willing to let us come back in with our dog just to “see how she acts” not necessarily to let us finish out her training. I felt like it was more to see if my version of the concerns were valid or not. If I could leave 0 stars, the trainer we had here deserves exactly that. I am not leaving this review for a response but please do not say you’ve never had a complaint in 15 years on a public forum when I clearly know that’s not true since I addressed one directly in February 2025. I am here to back Kassidy up from what I’ve witnessed myself and the way they responded to it in case there are others out there that were made to feel like they did something wrong addressing their own experience with the trainer here.

Chance did great things with a very anxious girl! She's not jumping up on us now and thanks to Chance guiding us, we know what we need to do to maintain this better, less reactive, behavior .

We have just picked up our dog from the two week board and train program. When we dropped him off, he only knew the sit command. We are extremely pleased with his progress. He now listens and follows several commands very, very well. Avery was a great trainer for him. She seems very compassionate and you can tell she loves her job. I would highly recommend this program for anyone dealing with a dog that doesn’t listen and follow commands.
