Off Leash K9 Training, Philadelphia

I attempted to train my 3-year old Catahoula Leopoard Hound (CLH), Hughey, at home on my own. I've had dogs all my life and never had trouble with training. However, CLHs are a stubborn breed and I needed help! With Hughey, I succeed with basics like "sit", "come", etc. But, "stay" or "sit-stay" with Hughey was impossible. Additionally, Hughey was a leash puller and a yank-yer-arm-out-of-the-socket type of dog. ESPECIALLY if he saw another dog, squirrel, rabbit, or really any kind of distraction. I invested in K-9 Off-Leash and Matt Ferramosca was the trainer for our Hughey in 'board and train' program. Matt is AMAZING! I received daily updates on Hughey's progress and general well being. Our dog Finn did the board and train with Andrew and we couldn’t not be happier with the results!! Immediately when we got home we noticed how much our dogs behavior improved! Not only does our dog listen to commands better than ever before, Andrew gave me and my wife such a great wealth of knowledge for us to continue to sharpen his skills throughout the rest of his life. It was not easy for us to be away from our dog for 2 weeks, but as soon as we met Andrew we knew he would care for Finn as if he were his own. My dog Cooper just finished up the 2 week board and train program with Andrew! We are so happy with how everything went. We got daily updates with pictures and videos to show us the progress cooper was making. We were amazed how much Cooper learned in such a short time. Cooper went from bad leash manors to walking next to us off leash with no concerns. He now knows sit, place, down, etc and stays in any command until told break. He has learned to ignore distractions such as people and dogs. The confidence cooper has gained is so amazing. It’s such an incredible feeling having control over my dog and watching him listen to me no matter the situation. I signed my dog up for their 8 week advanced training program due to his reactivity towards other dogs. We worked primarily with Andrew and Anastasia, and our experience was amazing. During the first 4 weeks we reviewed the basics, and the last 4 lessons we worked on his obedience around other dogs. Each of the trainers brought out other dogs to work around, and managed to recreate real life scenarios that my specific dog struggled in. We just finished up his last training session and his progress is incredible. 8 weeks ago I could hardly get his attention if there was another dog around. During this last training session I was able to put him into a down and walk away from him while Andrew walked another dog around him in circles. Sometimes we still struggle around higher energy dogs, but both Andrew and Anastasia have provided me with their numbers and assured me they’re there to help whenever I may need it. They were great people to work with, and I will miss our weekly sessions with them.

Luna needed her confidence back and Anastasia did just that! We went from having to use a gentle leader and martingale to using just a regular collar. She can stay in place when told and walks beautifully now without pulling. Luna had to relearn a lot offer being attacked several times and now Luna is walking with her head held high and a wagging tail. She learned to trust other dogs again and can walk past them , sit or down and let them walk past her and she isn’t afraid. I can tell her place and she will sit and stay where I put her making our lives so much easier! She can go into a down quickly and hold it until she is told otherwise. I can even put her in place and go for a swim and know she will not leave her area! We put her training to the test on vacation and she showed me just how rock solid she now is!
