Good morning Heather, I am sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your experience as much as your dog did. First off, your dog did not train with OLK9 Philadelphia. You trained with OLK9 Delaware, a different location. Secondly, your dog was not traumatized whatsoever while training with us and an e-collar. We are happy to provide pictures and video showing Bill hav ing an amazing time with his trainer should anyone be concerned about your review. I have followed up with your trainer and the Delaware location. They reported that Bill (Bernese Mountain Dog) enjoyed his training sessions with his trainer as evidenced in his before and after training video and daily updates sent to you. You were not informed the day before pick up that your dog would be trained with an e-collar. That is simply false and we do not appreciate you distorting information. You were educated on the e-collar throughout the program and you were told that we would blend e-collar training with traditional positive reinforcement techniques throughout Bill's program. If you would have instructed us to not use an e-collar whatsoever on your dog, we would not have done so. We do not offer any guarantee of off leash consistency in commands without an e-collar, but we do provide treat-only board and train programs consistently. Furthermore, your dog was not traumatized by the e-collar as evidenced in his after training video which can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=quBt2CHM6q0. This video shows Bill completing commands happily with his e-collar, and it also shows you working with him successfully in the turnover. If there is any negative experience with the e-collar after training, it is user error. The board and train provides unlimited support after the program to minimize and eliminate user error by the dog owner. I encourage you to reach out to your trainer and the correct OLK9 location to receive such support. We 1,000% understand how to train dogs with a variety of training methods including positive-only reinforcement, prong collars, and e-collars. I wish you the best of luck going forward and hope you take advantage of the training support provided in the program.
