Off Leash k9 Training Reno

My wife and I recently brought our 8-month-old Rhodesian Ridgeback to Off Leash K9 Training in Reno for a two-week board-and-train program, and we could not be happier with the results. The staff were friendly, informative, and very responsive over the phone. They followed up consistently and made sure we knew exactly what to expect going in, so there were no surprises. Our trainer, Monica, was absolutely top-notch. She has over twenty years of experience, and it definitely shows. She is very personable and explains the training process in a way that is easy to understand. While our dog was away, Monica sent us daily messages detailing what they worked on each day, along with videos so we could track his progress. She responded promptly to every question we had throughout the entire process. At the end of the program, Monica took the time to walk me through everything she had taught our dog and had me personally work through all of the new commands to make sure I felt confident continuing the training at home. The difference is night and day. We don’t have enough good things to say about Off Leash K9 and their program, and would highly recommend anyone considering training to give them a call.

Rick is worth every penny!!!! We have a four year old rescue that is extremely skittish — he’s afraid of everything and everyone, and consequently he was very reactive. On walks he’d frequently lunge and bark, and when we had guests in the home the only way to keep him somewhat calm was to constantly hold him. We could never relax around other people out of fear our dog might bite. 2 years ago we sent our dog to another trainer for a 2 week program. At the end of the 2 weeks the other trainer told us he couldn’t work with our dog because our dog was too afraid. He literally wasn’t able to help him at all. Because of this we were hesitant to try again but I’m so glad we did! I felt immediately at ease with Rick. He exudes confidence in his profession, and instantly earned my trust that my dog would be in good hands. He told me he wouldn’t give up on my dog. Rick sent video updates every single day, along with a text explaining what they worked on and the progress they made. Rick is extremely knowledgeable, and it’s clear he really cares about dogs. Rick is not only a great teacher to dogs but to humans as well! When we picked our dog up he spent three full hours explaining our dog’s behavior to us, and how we can help him moving forward. He took his time, was extremely thorough, and never rushed our many questions. He made all the information easy to digest. I am honestly shocked at how much better our dog is doing. Walks are now a breeze — I am in total control of my dog and he is completely relaxed … the difference is night and day. We had our first house guest over and I told my dog to lay down in a certain place like Rick taught me, and my dog stayed there the ENTIRE time without even one bark or whine. If you have a reactive dog and you’re contemplating hiring a trainer, don’t think about it anymore and just hire Rick. I wish we had found him sooner. I know it’s not cheap, but it honestly is the BEST investment I have made in years. Not having to worry about my dog hurting anyone, and knowing my dog is happier too is priceless. Rick will not let you down.

Our experience with Off Leash canine training was absolutely amazing. I have a two year-old German Shepherd, who’s got a lot of fear-based behaviour. While he’s never hurt anyone he has been very reactive when feeling threatened and can be very frightening because of his size and breed. After two weeks with Rick, my dog is feeling safe and is responding to commands that help him to trust me and his environment. I can’t recommend the experience enough!
